Creamy mushroom soup Smile Sep 19, 2011

I came here on a weekend for brunch and it was considerably empty. There are quite a number of choices of soup and sandwiches, and they are always coming up with new creations. However, most of the time, I would stick to my favorite mushroom soup.

The mushroom soup is very creamy and full of slices of fresh mushroom and their quality is pretty consistent. I ordered the set meal, which comes with a drink and a half sandwich or wrap.

Axis Bar Smile Sep 19, 2011

We came here at night, after we do not know where to go while walking around Marina Square. The ambiance was very nice and it drew us in. It was my first time here and the easier choice was to try their signature cocktails, and thus I ordered Mandarin Sling, which was quite sweet but good. It comes with peanuts and olives.

I would come here again to chill out. A quiet place with great ambiance and service.

Kway Chap Smile Sep 19, 2011
Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Brunch

Every time I come to this foodcourt, I would inevitably order kway chap. If you come here during lunch or dinner time, you would see many customers eating kway chap too. The service is fast, so there is usually not long queue.

The portion is very big and delicious. The intestines are cooked well without the bad smell. The chili is a little spicy, but goes very well with the food. The kway is very smooth and the soup is not very oily, as some stalls' tend to be.

Fruit juice Smile Sep 19, 2011
Categories : Juices

The fruit juice is prepared on the spot, blended from real fruit. I ordered the mango strawberry fruit juice. The ice are crushed even though there is quite a lot of ice. The juice is very concentrated, so it tastes good even with the ice.

This cup costs only around $1.50. Definitely worth it!

Spending per head: Approximately $1.50

Deal 2 + 1 Smile Oct 27, 2011

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum

This promotion has been going on for some time now and I finally have the chance to give it a try. The promotion is to order a set meal, which consists of 2 items, and have a choice to order another item out of the 4 choices for only $1. Of course we'd order the third item for just $1.

For the set meal, we chose the steamed fish and braised duck. The fish was very fresh and I liked the sauce very much. The duck was braised with yam. The duck meat was quite tough, but has absorbed the gravy nicely. For the $1 item, we chose the prawns with salted egg. The serving was obviously smaller, but for $1, it was still worth it. The prawns were fresh and crunchy, and the salted egg gave it a nice sweet and salty coating.

Overall, it was very worth the price and delicious definitely.
