How can you not order pizza while at Timbre? Its almost like a staple for me whenever I have dinner/drinks there. oh.. and the chicken wings!

I was never disappointed with the food with timbre. the pizza we had this time round was heavier than previous, with lots of cheese. We ordered the half and half where u get to choose 2 flavours for each half of the pizza-- philliy cheese steak and pepperoni. I didnt really wanted it but oh my, i had 4 squares! =P

The phillip cheese steak is made of Sauté beef and Spanish onions with mushrooms and peppers, topped with orange cheddar and provolone cheese while the Pepperoni is Tomato pomodoro on a thin crust topped with mozzarella cheese and sliced pepperoni.

Previously I had tried the buffalo wings before-- its so bad its good.. super fried in batter and a thick sauce over it so I wanted to try the normal wings, which isnt super healthy as well coz its fried. The portion looks small but its actually just right in portion for 2 together with the pizza.

What's more, its my first time at Gillman and its great to be in the greenery. Defnitely will come back!

If you are looking for a nice place to bring a date this weekend, Check out Wine Company along Sentosa Boardwalk. Having been staying near Harbourfront, I would say there are 2 places which never fail me in terms of atmosphere--Sentosa Boardwalk and Keppel Bay. Trust me--waterfront, al fresco dining, not too crowded and great food makes these 2 places a must for any guy who wants to impress.

There are only 2 F & B outlets on Sentosa Boardwalk--Wine Company and and the former wins hands down. Food is so much better at Wine company though drinks might be slightly pricier than its neighbour.

The roast pork was a yummy starter, even for me who isnt really a pork-lover. The skin was thin and crispy with just the right amount of salt. My friend was craving Char kway teow and although portion was a little on the smaller side was nonetheless satisfied.

The Burger was a individually packed beef patty served with lettuce, onion, cheese & truffle fries-- though we couldnt really taste much of a truffle in in and patty runs a bit dry.

And for salad loving me.. this was the worst dish of the night. Small, lacking in taste and unsatisfying. Oh well.

Then again, given the atmosphere, its the perfect place for drinks and they've got a lot of funky finger good I would try--like ngoh hiang and fried yong tau foo. Hows that with wine huh?

I remembered there was a period of time i was quite crazy about Watami. Not that its food was superb, but more for the value and variety. Amongst the casual Jap restaurant chains I must say Watami still wins my heart. I think I didn't come for about a year and was glad to find one in the Clarke Quay area where I was supposed to meet my friend.

Well firstly, expect the place to be crowded as due to its value, many large gatherings occur here and this isnt the first time I have noticed this. This time round, we witnessed a corporate dinner with about 20 Japanese beside us taking up the row of 4-5 tables.

For food, I tried one of their new offerings-- Beancurd roll with avocado and prawns. I really loved it because I love beanskin and the dish was very fresh. In fact, it reminded me of the viet fresh spring rolls. However, there fillings were not very generous as I felt like i only tasted a small piece of avocado in one of the portions.

Salad was good because the sesame sauce is super addictive. I feel like its something i can eat everyday. There were slices of teriyaki chicken and tuna mayo. =)

I guess I will go back to Watami very very soon again. =)

Food so good, skip the beer! Smile Sep 25, 2013

I often love eating at Brotzeit; it must be one of the best beer place that serves superb food. I lost count how many times I have come with friends to have a drink and we just end up ordering the Pork Knuckles. This time around, it was just me and my boy and it was weird coz he wanted the mozarella salad and because we just did a 12 km run and were so famished we ordered the regular mozarella salad and the sausage platter.

The salad was very fresh and perfect for 2 to share-- love the mozarella balls and the bits of sun-dried tomatoes which added a tangy hint to the salad. THe sausage platter was a surprisingly good for me, given that I am quite sensitive to the 'porky' smell usually and I dunno if it was the hunger from the run I polished off more sausages than I could usually.

In fact, the funny thing is being one who often prefers chicken and white meat, I actually found the spicy pork ones quite yummy. Good for 2 to share and always goes well with a good portion of sauerkraut. =)

Sinful tonkatsu! Smile Sep 07, 2013

Finally was able to bring the Japanese-food-loving boyfriend to Tampopo. This place is great for us because its a good location, great quality food, and he get to eat his ramen and me other low-carb dishes like Tonkatsu.

As usual ordered my Pork loin yanagawa --thick pieces of lean pork in batter and egg over it... salty, oil, crispy, filling, yummy.. all at the same time! Comes with a side salad that is apparently refillable.

Angmokia had the deluxe black pig Shabu Ramen, which he loved. Soup was not too spicy that it masked the taste of the broth and having a whole egg was a nice touch for ramen-egg lovers. Though he found that the thin slices of black pig though good, was nothing very spectacular.

One of my favourites that I will return and return!
