Lovely Latte Art Smile Jun 22, 2013

Categories : Café | Desserts and Cakes

Another coffee place but seriously, Just Want Coffee take their latte art seriously. Having been to so many cafes around and being such a ‘kopi-gui’, I must say I would even return just to come for their latte art. No im kidding, but their coffee is good too, and affordable at $4.50 per cup.

Lovely isnt it? And the details of the bear… is just.. impressive! Anyway, I have the cappuccino blended because it was just too hot, and I must say its great because its not sweet at all. I love it that way, especially with some chocolate powder on top. =P And the blend was thick and the coffee taste and aroma was not thinned out by the ice at all. Lovely job guys!

People come here for the charsiew, but I would say the one that rocks me more was the roast pork. I was a little on the dry side, but less fat and the layer of crispy skin was just the right thickness. We had also requested leaner charsiew and this request will be my order each time i come here from now on. Heh. The chicken was quite passable though.

Some greens to balance it out, and i loved the dumpling soup! With the haze these days its really killing my appetite (especially when you struggle to breathe) so sometimes i just wan a soup. The one here is really good with smooth skin and succulent prawn. Yumz.

Be careful of the lunch crowd and get ready to sweat!

I had eaten here before and was particularly impressed with the quality of the food even though it is a casual restaurant with no service charge (you need to order at the counter). I love the smoothness of the dumplings here and the portion is just right for me. Try it with their special chilli too!

I also had the Sheng Kee Bao-- which is a bit like a big chicken bao with egg and meat. I would say.. at $2.90 a bao, just stick to the other dimsum such as the egg custard bun. I think you may even find better chicken baos at coffee shops. =P

Bar food that never fails! Smile Jun 07, 2013

Categories : German | Bars/Lounges | Steaks and Grills

Out so many drinking holes, Brotzeit is one of those places that never fails me when you are hungry while having drinks. This was what happened to 4 very stressed working professionals. Lol. The guys had their beer and while faced with an array of delicious german sausages in the menu, we decided that its probably more economical to order the Brotzeit platter.

A very very glorious platter made up of their signature Pork Knuckle with crispy skin and fattening 'collagen' and flavourful lean meat nearer to the bone, a thin fillet of pork schnitzel in a fine batter, and a selection of german sausages. For $88, you get this platter of meaty goodness with your choice of 2 side dishes. With all that meat, of course we made the healthier choice to get sauerkraut and some sauteed mixed vegetables. Highly re

commended! TGIF!

Very filling and tasty Sharwarma Smile Jun 07, 2013

Categories : Middle Eastern/Mediterranean | Restaurant | Seafood | Steaks and Grills

It was around 1030 pm on a weekday night and was looking for place to have a late dinner and drinks after work. There were a row of 'open restuarants' where Shiraz is selling bugers and pizzas and we settled for Shiraz's yummilicious sharwarma!

A sharwarma is a Middle Eastern style sandwich composed of shaved lamb, chicken, beef roasted on a rotisserie grill. There is a set that comes with fries at $12 Singapore for the chicken shawarma and you get to choose 2 sauce. I had their signature garlic yoghurt, and hummus, with an accompaniment of salad in toasted pita bread. It was very very yummy, filling and satisfying! the meat was juicy and the sauces were not overwhelming in taste. will definitely come back here when im looking for something affordable to eat late at clarke quay!
