Average Donuts. OK Dec 31, 2010
Categories : Café

I guess the donut craze are started to stablise .
I can still remember the scene which donuts shops are everywhere with a long queue everywhere.
JCO somehow managed to stay and survived in the throat cutting donut & coffee business, so i though they must have something unique to differentiate themselves.

JCO Donuts in general are little softer, not as firm as Krispy Kreme.
Maybe I'm just bias but I dont find anything special with JCO donuts overall.

But I've to admit that their location are very strategic. Right at the corner in Bugis Junction Basement. Good place to relax and have a sip of coffee after endless walking in town.

Great Coffee Smile Dec 31, 2010

Categories : American | Café

A night-out at clark quay area doesnt necessary mean to be indulging with alcohols.

Coffee did a great job too.
Everything was pretty perfect over at this coffee club.
Great view of the late night action (of people flocking to different clubs/pubs)
Great company
Great Coffee

Personally, had the caramel latte. Good mixture of expresso and warm milk with a tint of caramel to sweeten it. Not too overwhelming in taste but in fact, the caramel bold out the flavour of the latte and kept me awake for the next few hours.

Only a little hiccup from the service side.
Waitress consistently went missing and aint really attentive despite us trying to catch their attention by waving to them several times.
Bills and order takings are slow.
Something which they'll need to improve on.

Reasonable Tako OK Dec 31, 2010
Categories : Japanese | Stall / Kiosk | Brunch

You wouldnt miss this out from the long queue sight from it's neighbour - Koi Cafe.

They work pretty well in their presentation and concept.
I tried their spicy tako with wasabi sauce.
Takoyaki are done nicely with a little char and extra crispyness. Not too bad as compared to the Takopachi at bugis basement. Added with the wasabi sauce (in fact it's wasabi mayo), it added more japanese feel to the entire dish.

Pricing wise might be a little pricer but I think it's still within the acceptable range.

Spending per head: Approximately $3

Deserved better justification Smile Dec 31, 2010

I think they deserved a better justification from my previous review.
Returned to this stall again on a late night, craving for some hot and warm kway chap.

The impression they gave are significantly better than my previous visit.
Ordered a person portion, but hey! It's enough even for 2 person!

Pig innate are well braised and no funny smell.
gravy were thick and more flavoury (maybe it's getting late and it've absorb the essence for braise meat for the whole day).

Definitely one of the better stall in the entire kopitiam.

Sour Cream & Onion Fries Smile Dec 31, 2010
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches

As suggested by their name, their signatures has got to be their fries.
Felt quite skeptical to try initially, especially for french fries which are so common in Singapore. In the end I ordered their sour cream & onion fries.

They used real onion bits instead of onion powders, which I'm quite impressed.
Not too salty, but it blended well with the sour cream powder.

In fact, the experience was pretty unique since I've only tried sour cream on potato chips and pretzel before.

Worth a try.
