Late snack at town Smile Nov 25, 2011

Potato skin with cheese

Potato skin with cheese

After a long day of shopping, it was finally 10pm and we were feeling hungry thus we found out that blue mountain cafe is still open so we decided to take a rest and have a snack there. We ordered potato skins with cheese and mudpie (couldn't capture the image of the mudpie as my camera died). Potato skins with cheese is a fresh idea! It has some bacon bits sizzled on top of the cheese. First few bites were quite good but it didn't last as the potato itself could already fill one's tummy and the cheese had made it more filling. Our mudpie finally came, a mixture of coffee and chocolate flavours with a thin layer of cookie base! Who doesn't fancy sweet dessert? The mudpie tasted reallly great and I love how the coffee and chocolate flavours could blend well together with each other! It is definitely a great place to chill out after a long shopping day at town!

The best fro-yo in town Smile Nov 24, 2011

As usual, I'll always visit red mango @ scape each time I hit town. Comparing it with other kinds of frozen yoghurt, this is my favourite. The texture of the yoghurt is smooth and it is not as sour as some other kinds of frozen yoghurt which is what I like most about. It has a wide range of toppings for you to choose, from granola to mochi to fresh fruits to nuts and etc. It is definitely a healthy dessert after a meal because it's low fat! It will be ideal for health conscious people or even for people who have a sweet tooth!

TCC @ Velocity  Smile Nov 24, 2011

TCC @ Velocity is definitely an ideal place for a good coffee along with a cake. The high tea set is greatly affordable for people who loves to have some small sweet bites. Although it's a cafe, it does serve main courses and pasta. One of my favorites is seafood aglio olio which can be requested to be less spicy or non-spicy if you can't take any spicy food. Remember to order the famous dark devotion after your meal! Staffs of TCC do provide an excellent service too! They would surely try their very best to go along with customers' requests!

Assorted macarons OK Jan 28, 2014

As I was craving for some macarons, the nearest I could find was pique nique and thus I decided to give them a try. I've ordered a few different flavours, lemon, strawberry, salted caramel, chocolate, peanut butter jelly and red velvet. Honestly, all these can't be compared to those at canele and TWG. The only two which I think are not bad at pique nique are chocolate and salted caramel, the rest are just mediocre. The shells are pretty stiff and it doesn't melt in your mouth. I would spend more on better quality macarons!

Eggs Benedict

Eggs Benedict

Arbite is quite a charming little place right smack in the middle of Serangoon Gardens Circus. You climb upstairs and if you're lucky, a nice window seat will let you have a good view of the circus outside.

What attracted me there was that they serve all day breakfast!

The Eggs Benedict which I had was done with prosciutto instead of regular ham, and together with the eggs and hollandaise sauce, but I felt it was rather run of the mill. However my friend commented that the salad that she had was done with fresh vegetable and really sweet tomatoes.
