Great Thai Food.  Smile Nov 29, 2010

I can't believe we just found out how nice Thai Express is!
I ordered the Beef Noodle (Soup) and while it is not that authentic, it really taste great!

The beef serving was a lot and the noodles were just right. not too soggy and not too hard.

I also love the chendol. Only order the chendol if you have a sweet tooth because the taste of the gula melaka
can be quite overwhelming. BUt the chendol is really nice... and i would come back just the chendol!

For the appetiser, we ordered this prawn toast and it was equally nice.

My bf ordered the Pad Thai and it was great.
Service was good because the staffs were quick and attentive.
definitely coming for a second visit!

$0.99 sushi OK Nov 29, 2010

I first dine at Shin tOkyo because of their $0.99 promotion.
At that time, the was a wide selection of sushi available. However, nowadays, the sushi selection
for the $0.99 plate are quite lame.

You can't even have anything with Salmon on the $0.99 plate.
all you see are eggs, crabmeats, and the other boring stuffs.

so we ended up ordering from the menu what we like and the price came up to the same if we eat at Sakae etc.

We also tried the ramen because they were having a 1-for-1 promotion.
Unfortunately, it wasn't nice as well.

The only one worth trying would be their brownies which came with ice cream.
It is quite nice.

Not worth it!  Cry Nov 29, 2010

The food may look appetising, on and off the menu, but trust me, it''s not.

Located next to kopitiam, it is not exactly a nice plate for a gathering because it is very noisy.
It took them 20 mins to get us seated because it was a small restaurant.

It took them another 20mins to serve us the food because they are shorthdanded.

I ordered the cockles fried kway teow and it was tasteless.
We also ordered a bowl of Tom Yam Soup (medium) but the portion was as good as a small size one.
Not worth the price we paid.

The fried wanton that we ordered was also so-so. Nothing to be raved about.

For the amount of time we spent waiting, it was a total dissapointment.

To be really honest, i don't understand the craze for Sakura Buffet except for the price.
At close to $30 (after all the ++), it is understandably one of the cheapest halal international buffet around.

The food selection are quite subjective though.
At some places you will get a really nice selection, but at some (especiallty the clementi outlet) you'll be wondering why did you pay $30 for this.

The main dishes (like spagehtti, fried noodles etc) are skippable honestly.
I tried it once and never want to bother filling up my tummy with that again.

The teppenyaki was ok though, at least something to look forward to.

The sushi selection was so-so and the only thing i like will have to be the sashimi.
Thats the only think i top up more than once.

The sesserts are so-so. All the cakes taste the same, to be honest.

Another Fish & Chips Meal  OK Nov 29, 2010
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Seafood | Halal | Kids-Friendly

The Manhattan Fish market would be another place to explore if you love seafood and if you
want a place that is halal certified.

However, i will not compare it with Fish & Co because the taste and quality of food is
different.

It may look the same (especially the seafood platter) but they serving and taste pale in comparison.
The frilled fish looks undercooked and doesn't seem that grilled.

The Seafood Creamy Pasta was too rich and my BF couldn't even finish it even though he likes creamy stuff.

The only redeeming item we ordered was the Pacific Dory Fish & Chips.
For it's size, it was a value for money (only $9++) and the fish was quite fresh.
But other than that, i think i'll stick with Fish & co.
