Potato Smile Apr 17, 2013

Everything when I walk past, I noticed this stall there at Raffles City. I tried ordering the breakfast set that they have as I was tempted by their sunny side eggs. The set cost about $6.90 which includes one sausage, two eggs, potato salad, red beans and tea. Overall it was a set worth to get and food was acceptable. There have many selections of other choices of baked potatoes as well. I will drop by if I need to have a quick meal in the area. lol

Spending per head: Approximately $7(Breakfast)

I happened to be on leave that day and want to take the opportunity to go for a high tea. After researching on all the high tea places, I decided to try out Antoinette. It was at Mandarin Gallery and the restaurant looks really classy and cosy. They were playing French music all throughout. Decided to get their high tea special for two. It come with a 3 tier pastries with both savoury and sweet. You get to choose their tea with lots of choices in the menu and I decided to get their Apple tea. It comes in a pot and it’s actually granny smith apples tea which tasted quite unique and it was my first time trying it. The tier pastries have more of sweet stuffs such as macaroons, chocolate croissants and cakes. The savoury stuff is fewer with smoked salmon bread and smoked ham croissants. Overall it will be better if it there are more savoury stuffs although the sweet stuffs are nice as well just to balance it off. I had a good afternoon tea session.

This is my first time at The Grandstand trying out the Pies & Coffee at The Grandstand. This time I ordered the ratatouille with the lunch set. The lunch set comes with a coffee/tea of your choice. I had the chai tea latte. The pie comes with mash potato and so salad. The ratatouille was warmed and made hot. I really love this pie comparing to the beef one I had previously. I ordered the lemon meringue cake as well as the cheese cake. Both were equally good however lemon meringue cake was a little bit sour though but it was really refreshing. So a must try for their cakes as well. Also, I really like the place cause of the cosiness decor and quietness. Enjoyed my lunch with the coffee and the pies as well as the cakes.

Once in a while I will still crave for vegetarian meal to cleanse my palate. You can be spoit for choices now especially at Nature Vegetarian Delights. This place was introduced by a friend. I went for a vegetarian meal with my friends and ordered some dishes such as the vegetarian curry mutton, water seacress soup, fried tofu and spinach with mushroom. The dishes from this restaurant is still pretty good. The taste of it is still alright. Enjoyed the fried tofu the best cause of the crispiness and curry mutton was the next best dish cause the curry was delicious. There are bento set and many burgers as well. Perhaps I will try it the next time.

Chicken Rice Smile Apr 07, 2013
Categories : Hainanese | Chicken Rice

This have been the best chicken rice so far in my opinion in Singapore. I will usually order white chicken cause it is more tender and the chicken will be soaked with some sauce beneath it.. The chicken rice is really fragrant and delicious. The chewines of the chicken is just nice and as the chicken is so tender. Usually will eat it with chilli and ginger provided. The chilli is really good though and there is a choice of black sauce if prefered. There will be usually a long queue during lunch time but queue may be quite fast.
