Yummy fish soup Smile Dec 26, 2010

This is one interesting stall that sells mini fish soup steamboats. The usual me will order sliced fish soup but I was feeling adventurous that day and decided to try something different - fried fish soup.

As expected, the fried fish slices became rather soggy after being "soaked" in the milky soup but surprisingly, the fish still tasted tasty and slightly chewy. The soup was kept warm, thanks to the mini fire and it was yummy.

It is at the outlet in Food Republic, Vivocity where I first tasted Pu Tien and it has been one of my favourite eating venues ever since. The lor mee is my favourite dish and I have never failed to order it whenever I dine at Pu Tien. It contains seafood like prawn and other yummy stuff like mushrooms and tau pok served in a rich creamy gravy.

Other favourite dishes not to be missed include the homemade beancurds (the silky beancurds are simply too good to resist!) and drunken cockles (served with garlic - my absolute favourite but definitely not for the faint-hearted)

In short, if you are looking for unique yet simple Chinese fare, Pu Tien is the best choice with its pocket-friendly prices.

Hock Hai curry noodle is my latest most frequented stall in Bedok. Curry appeals to me and the curry served here is thick, unlike others who may dilute the gravy and make it too watery and tasteless. I love to have it with yellow mee accompanied by a bit of balachan. The only downside is that the curry is rather oily but otherwise, it's shiok!

Whenever I go to Buona Vista for my courses early in the morning, I would drop by the Mr Bean outlet at Buona Vista MRT station to get my yummy breakfast - Set E which comprises of a pancake and a cup of soya milk. Cheese is my favourite flavour though occasionally I'll also choose chocolate and a cup of soya milk will accompany. That you go, a healthy breakfast set to get the day going smile

Two things always attract me to MOS Burger: the fries and the milk tea. The former is usually very soft and fat, which makes it different from other fries while the latter is a rather refreshing drink that keeps me wanting more.

I usually order rice burgers because that's what makes it special from the rest of the hamburgers. However, this time round, I decided to go for the normal burger as there was this new item I wanted to try. It was also a seafood one with fish flakes. Nice and yummy. I hope that it would stay in the menu. tongue
