My favourite pick from the dessert menu is the Coupe Cheesecake dessert. It has 4 generous scoops of cheesecake ice cream topped with strawberries & cookie crumbs! This is a must-try if you go to Bakerzin for desserts, and at least 2 to share smile

The Warm Chocolate Cake is also worth your $, the chocolate cake nicely heated up with a scoop of refreshing vanilla ice cream added to it. Yummy tongue

My favourite bubble tea joint :) Smile Nov 07, 2010

I used to go to the Amore gym at City Square & hence discovered this bubble tea joint at B2 of City Square.

Their speciality drink is the 功夫奶茶 (gongfu nai cha) which I enjoy very much. The milk froth is on top instead of being mixed into the tea.

My other favourite is the Citreon Juice with K Jelly. It's actually Yuzu Cha wif many of the fruit bits & K Jelly in the drink for u to chew. Very worthwhile drink to take at $2.90 a cup smile

Yummy Honeymoon Dessert Smile Nov 07, 2010

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Chinese | Desserts and Cakes

Accidentally saw tat Honeymoon Desserts is now open at 313 Somerset as well & decided to satisfy my craving for their yummy desserts. I think the 1st outlet in Singapore was opened in Vivo City level 1, & I'm happy tat they have now expanded to 313 Somerset & Bugis Junction smile

I tried Toddy Palm with Black Glutinous Rice in Vanilla Sauce for a change ($4.50) while my friend had her hot Walnut & Almond Paste ($3.50).

The toddy palm (海底椰) was a bit hard, else it's just the same gd feeling I get from eating its famous mango with black glutinous rice in vanilla sauce. ^^ As for the walnut & almond paste, it was good, tho' my friend commented she thought the almond taste was too overpowering so she mixed the 2 up together.

Yes, my friend & I chanced upon this restaurant when we were hunting for a nice place for dinner on a Friday. It is pretty well hidden at basement 2 of Orchard Central, if not for its advertisement poster near the escalator of one of Orchard Central's floors, we wouldn't even know such a restaurant existed.

It was having a promotion for all diners when we visited: 10% discount for ala carte food items & 50% discount for cocktails & mocktails. We had a quick peek at its menu before deciding to step foot into this restaurant as the price looks reasonable with the promotion, & the ambience looks cosy & welcoming. smile

We ordered 1 pasta & 1 pizza to share, as well as a cocktail for myself & a mocktail for my friend.

The complimentary slice of bread was served warm & soft, but I guess I have eaten better bread appetitisers at other Italian restaurants.tongue.

My Gnocchi Roma was very tasty, which was Italian-style potato dumpling pasta served with bacon bits. The portion looked small but it was actually quite filling.

When the Hawaiian Pizza came, we still hadn't finished the pasta & so decided to finish it before starting the pizza. So by the time we ate the pizza, it was not very hot & hence the crust was a bit tough already. Otherwise I think this pizza should be pretty alright too. As you can see from the picture, the pizza was quite big, 8 pieces in fact, & we struggled to finish. For the last few pieces, we had to scrape off the crust to lessen the carbo-intake haha. Luckily the crust was thin & not so wasteful. tongue

I also enjoyed my Lychee Mojito ($16++) as much as my friend enjoyed her Lychee Smash ($12++). The only difference between our drinks was that mine was an alcoholic drink whereas hers wasn't. Maybe the alcohol effect worked on me, I forgot to take pic of this nice cocktail! tongue

After we finished the food & couldn't decide if we wanted to stuff ourselves with desserts (which looked really tempting), one of the waitresses served us complimentary slices of cheesecakes! Wow not bad so many freebies hehe. However, both of us didn't really like the cheesecakes, as it was a bit too cheesy. Fortunately only small slices were served to us. tongue

We were in the restaurant for over 2 hours & I must say the service staff were all quite friendly & service-oriented, although they were a bit careless (not to us but 1 broke a plate while another knocked into some board). The good thing about coming here to dine was also, it's not crowded or noisy & we could take our time to enjoy our dinner. I would say this was a good dinner choice we made, in the bustling & convenient Orchard area but yet a well-hidden cosy corner! ;)

Yummy Katsu Curry! Smile Oct 13, 2011
Categories : Japanese

Was introduced to this great little Japanese restaurant at Takashimaya B2 by my dear friend who loves Japanese food. She told me that the Katsu Curry Rice here is great, even her Japanese friend also agrees that it is authentic. smile It's located in the food court area, but they have seats set aside for customers of this restaurant.

I ordered the Katsu Curry Teisyoku and liked it very much. They gave plenty of curry sauce (I didn't finish the sauce) which was quite smooth and very fragrant. In addition, you can choose your side, either the miso soup or salad, & I chose the salad. They were also generous with the amount of katsu on the plate, which was very crispy! A very full & satisfying meal indeed, for $15.50. smile
