Hock Lam Beef  Smile Dec 26, 2010

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

I love the beef ball noodles at Hock Lam Beef situated at Far East Square. The standard has always been up to standard and it never fails my day whenever I’m there for the beef noodles.

As always, the place is very packed most of the time and we had to reach there early in order to obtain seats during lunch.

The beef noodles come in 3 different sizes and it costs $5.50 for the small bowl. I usually have the small bowl as the portion would be just right.

The soup is fantastic, the 8 beef balls leave a tangy feel, and the kway teow is smooth making the entire experience wonderful.

I will definitely come back for more beef noodles. It is value for money with the tasty food and friendly and attentive staff.

KOI Cafe  Smile Dec 25, 2010
Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

Despite the whole Koi bubble tea craze for the past few months, their bubble tea still taste as good and the standard remains.

I ordered a Green Milk Tea, at 25% sugar level with less pearls, as the pearls usually fill half your cup of you don’t request for less pearls.

The tea aroma of the milk tea is great, and the green tea flavour totally compliments the tea. The milk tea is superb and taste very different from the other brands of bubble tea.

It costs $2.40 a cup, quite steep a price I would say if you drink it on a daily basis. For me, I try to cut down on my bubble tea intake by having it once a week.

Waiting time is long, as estimated waiting time is up to 20 minutes on a typical crowded day. Nothing much to praise on the service of staff as their service is just average.

The Icing Room  Smile Dec 25, 2010

Categories : Singaporean | Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

The Icing Room looked so perfect, just like any girl’s dream baking kitchen. The shop is so well decorated with the pink and white walls and decor items. It immediately captures your attention with the girlish state.

As Christmas was approaching, they had the Christmas cupcakes which looked extremely yummy, and yes... they taste yummy too!

Bought a pair of the cupcakes which had the Santa Claus icing on top, of which one was blueberry and the other chocolate flavour.

The taste was just right, the cakes were soft and they melted in your mouth. The price was average, as they cost around $5 for a pair of cupcakes.

Service of the staff ought to be improved as the staff was not really efficient and quick in attending to our orders.

Popcorn  Smile Dec 25, 2010

A great and convenient snack at the movies, it keeps the mouth occupied while the mind is occupied with the show. Yes, popcorn!

We bought the sweet flavour popcorn as I have always been a fan of sweet stuff. Blame it on my sweet tooth. The popcorn is light and sweet, enhancing the flavour on the taste buds. It doesn’t leave the fingers sticky after the snack.

The popcorn is sold in different sizes and we purchased the smaller pack. It is packaged in a cute little box which makes any girl’s day. To top it up, the service staff provided good service when attending to our orders.

It’s definitely worth the try the next time you are at The Cathay for movies.

Yoshinoya  Smile Nov 30, 2010
Categories : Japanese | Fast Food | Kids-Friendly

Lunch today was awesome as I had my favourite salmon bowl at Yoshinoya.

We arrived at Yoshinoya at twelve noon, therefore we were able to find seats without having to wait.

The rice bowl still tasted as good despite not having been here a long period of time as I felt the restaurant is kind of over-rated with their pricey set meals.

Fried salmon and beef bowl taste the best among all choices. I ordered the salmon bowl regular with a cup of green tea which costs $7.60. I feel the price is reasonable for such food and an air-con area to lunch.

Other choices included the teriyaki bowl. Drinks included soy bean milk, green tea, miso soup and more.

Service staff was fast in the ordering process, therefore we did not had to wait long though there was a queue. I like fast and efficient staff who serves customers quickly, especially since lunch break is always in a rush.

I will definitely come back again.
