Tokyo Deli Cafe  Smile Dec 26, 2010

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant

Being a fan of desserts, especially panna cotta, I will try all restaurants or cafes that sell this dessert. I chanced upon Tokyo Deli Cafe at Raffles City shopping centre which sells many different flavours of panna cotta.

I ordered the strawberry panna cotta with bits of strawberries and blueberries. It tasted really good, kept me wanting for more. I’m totally in love with the panna cotta dessert. The portion was small and light.

It costs $3.90++ each. I think it’s quite reasonable for dining in at such a cozy and comfortable cafe.

The ambience is nice and it makes a great place for chilling and catching up with friends.

Subway  Smile Dec 26, 2010

Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches

Subway is a healthy meal choice if you are looking at a substitute to fast food. It constitutes of good meats (less fat) and veggies, it’s really a low fat fast food. Cons would be the bread may be dry and hard at times.

Standard of the sandwich might be different when ate at the different outlets.

Subway has a daily promotion, at a cheaper price for a different kind of sandwich every day. I bought the chicken breast sandwich and so happen it was a Monday, which means it’s only $4.50 at the promotion price.

The chicken meat was soft and tender, and the honey oatmeal bread was baked just right. I requested for the honey mustard sauce to go along with the sandwich so it would not be that dry.

Kawa Café  Smile Dec 26, 2010
Categories : Taiwanese | Café

Kawa Café located at China Square is a recently opened bubble tea cafe.

The decoration of the shop is cute and the signature colour in the shop is red. It is very crowded on most weekdays during the lunch break period.

It is a nice place to chill and have coffee/ tea before heading back to the office.

I bought the iced milk tea with pearls at $2.20 a cup. The pearls are soft and chewy which gives a tangy feel. The milky taste is great and the tea does not overpower the milky beverage.

The staff who served us was polite and friendly which makes the customer’s day.

Being a fan of bubble tea, Kawa is definitely one of my favourite choices.

Tai Dong Teochew Braised Duck  Smile Dec 26, 2010
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Teochew | Hawker Centre

The duck rice at Tai Dong Teochew Braised Duck located at Circular Quay is really good. Been there a couple of times with my colleagues who introduced me to this shop located along the rows of food stores along the shophouses.

The duck were braised and you can smell the fragrant aroma from the meat of the duck. The amount of sauce is just right, not making the duck taste too salty. The rice grains were cooked with the right amount of water, therefore they were neither too soft nor hard.

For a quarter duck, egg and rice for two persons, it costs us $11. Quite a reasonable meal I would say. The food never fails me each time I’m there as the standard is always good.

Yes, I will definitely come back for more.

Sharetea  Smile Dec 26, 2010
Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

Sharetea is located at Wisma Atria, a recently opened bubble tea shop. Seems like the bubble tea craze is back again where everyone is flocking to the bubble tea shops.

I bought the Milk tea with pearls which costs $2.40 per cup. The price is reasonable for this, but I have seen the other flavours costing much more. For example, the Grass Jelly with Fresh Milk which costs $5 for a small cup – a bit expensive for take away bubble tea.

My milk tea tasted milky without a strong after tea effect. The pearls were very soft and spongy. In fact, the softest pearls I have tried, unlike the hard bouncy chewy pearls found elsewhere.

The service staff was polite and friendly when attending to our orders.
