Pontian Wanton Noodle  Smile Dec 27, 2010
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Malaysian | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Wanton mee has always been my favourite, especially the one at Pontian. I ordered takeaway, small size normal with two soup wanton and two fried wanton. The portion is just right for me.

It costs $3 for the small bowl and an additional $0.20 for the container. It is a cheap and satisfying meal.

The noodles still taste as good and the standard maintained. Though the rave on Pontian wanton noodles had died down as compared to in the past when everyone crowded round the stalls.

I will come back to Pontian Wanton Noodles for more of its wanton mee.

With A Pinch Of Salt  Smile Dec 27, 2010

Categories : Café | Kids-Friendly

I highly recommend this cute and chic café located along Tanjong Katong road. With a pinch of salt by Kyra is a cozy café with its pretty decorations. The decorations o f the café made us felt very comfortable and at home. It’s easily accessible and hard to miss with their outstanding interior décor.

The prices of their Western food seem reasonable and I decided to try the Crispy Chicken Chop which costs $8.90. I ordered the take away. The chicken was not oily at all and the meat was still soft and tender despite the fact that I consumed it only after I reached home.

The overall taste of the food was wonderful. I will definitely come back to this cozy café and this time round dine in the café itself to enjoy the ambience. It’s a great place for chilling with friends and family.

Lau Pa Sat Ban Mian  OK Dec 27, 2010
Categories : Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

I was walking around Lau Pa Sat looking for something which looks appealing. Chanced upon the ban mian stall and decided to try that since there was a queue.

I ordered the normal ban mian which costs around $4. The taste of it did not justify the queue at the stall. Frankly, I did not think the noodles taste good. The after taste left a 'flour' kind of feeling on the tastebuds and there was not much flavor in the soup.

The price is reasonable for ban mian as most stalls selling ban mian charge around this price. The saving factor of the day would be the politeness of the Aunty at the stall.

Overall, the ban mian is still considered alright if you are not a fussy eater.

Lau Pa Sat Korean Cuisine  Smile Dec 27, 2010
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Korean | Hawker Centre

As usual, there is always a long queue at the Korean stall at Lau Pa Sat during the lunch hour. As Lau Pa Sat is situated in the heart of many office building, it is not surprising to have a huge crowd at the food place. But it is surprising to see the forever existing queue at the Korean stall.

I ordered the BBQ chicken set which comes with a rice bowl. It costs $5.50 per set. I think the price is reasonable as most places charge around this price for Korean food.

The chicken was served piping hot on the hotplate; it was really tasty as the meat was soft and tender. The rice was quite tasteless and dry.

The portion was quite small and it was not really enough to keep my stomach full, though I’m quite a small eater. It would definitely be better with a larger portion.

Overeasy  Smile Dec 27, 2010

Categories : American | Bars/Lounges | Restaurant

Overeasy has a spectacular view of Marina Bay Sands and the Merlion which is just around the corner of the Esplanade and the beautiful water as its background.

It wasn’t my first time here, Overeasy is well known for its chic and lively crowd. I ordered the Strawberry Magarita which tasted good. The alcohol level wasn’t that high and it tasted more like a fruit punch. The Strawberry Magarita costs $13 ++.

I pretty much like the outdoor seating which overlooks the beautiful scenery. Seating was easy to find - outdoor benches and tables were available although the indoor seating was pretty much full up.

We arrived at 1am and there was still crowd around. Nice for a relaxing drink and chilling place with friends.
