MaggieMoo is a funky and cute little looking scoop shop located on the food basement of 313 @ Somersat. Frankly, it was the Mastercard 1-for-1 Fresh Escapes promotion that caught my attention. Usually it'd be 10.90$ for one cone (large) but with that, we thought why not.

The girls here are really pleasant and friendly too. Pity that I actually wanted the Red Velvet fresh escape but it was out of stock, hence I settled for an alternative, the Berry Cheesecake Lake: a combination of cheesecake ice-cream, strawberries, raspberries and strawberry sauce. It was really milky, creamy and good. A rich and heavenly dessert to end off our night, definitely sinful but once in a while wouldn't hurt, yea?

crispy, yummy, durian pancake. Smile May 20, 2011

Their pancakes turned out to be surprisingly yummy.! Before this, I had always thought of Four Seasons' durian pancakes being equal to wonderful but apparently, the ones from this stall is even better.

Reason being, both the durian puree fillings are of quality and fresh, so that makes a pile. However, the pancake from Ting You Durian Pancake is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, giving a crispy touch but 'melt in your mouth' soon after! Also personally, I'm more of a fan for crispy pancakes and waffles rather than soft and fluffy ones.

Cheeseburger meal. Smile May 10, 2011

I got the McValue cheeseburger set lunch on a weekday, so worth it, standard at only $4.50. I upsized my set lunch though because I wanted the seaweed sachet. I'm happy that seaweed shaker fries is back. I also changed my drink to ice lemon tea instead. Service here is rather efficient and the cleaners make an effort to clear the tables the moment customers were done eating and took their leave.

We all love Bubble Tea don't we? It quenches our thirst and fits into the role of 'there is always room for dessert after meals".

I ordered a large cup of honeydew green tea. It cost $1.50 for the large cup and $1.30 for the small one, so I thought for just a $0.20 difference, why not.

The tea was great, I could taste the authentic tea leaves fragrant and not artificial sweetening. Just like some brands which always leave my throat feeling horrible after each cup of bubble tea due to the low quality of powder flavorings. The bubble tea pearls at this place are soft and chewy too, mmm.

I suppose this is a new brand in the market but it's good. Recommended.

My driving instructor was the one who introduced and brought me to this place. Mai Zhi Su is a new discovery to some, like me previously, this cafe serves purely vegetarian food. But be fooled, be amazed, don't just expect typical vegetarian food like fried bee hoon, stir-fried cabbages and other deep-fried vegetarian stuff like taro! Though yummy but this place is a whole different concept. They serve mock meat that taste EXACTLY like real meat, except less oily and healthier, I reckon.

Their mock meat dishes seriously taste SIMILAR to real meat, even my driving instructor, who has been a vegetarian for more than 12 years, agrees so.

I had a plate of lemon chicken rice ($4/$4.50). It was really delicious. I was in love with the mock meat chicken and lemon sauce that I practically finished my entire plate of food even though I wasn't starved to start off with. It also came with side steamed (not fried) broccoli. My driving instructor had the nasi lemak ($4/$4.50), I found the vegetarian chicken wing really cute as it looked so identical to real chicken wing... except that it was boneless, of course.

These are just two of their many dishes that they serve. Not to forget to mention, they serve western cuisine too, like chicken chop, brown rice with salad and black pepper dory fish. They do serve Korean noodles too.

It was a new experience to me. This was probably the best vegetarian food I have eaten in my life so far. Now that you're aware of this place, you should definitely give it a try too. After all, what's the harm! I'd say you'd be amazed too (;
