Baby Back Ribs. Smile Jun 27, 2011
Categories : American

Back in those days when I was a kid, Chili's seemed to be a popular spot for many gatherings and dates. It is actually pretty good ambience and food if you like American style.

I don't come here often though because of it's rather inconvenient location.

I had the Baby Back Ribs- half rack. Instead of the homestyle fries, I switched to corn on a cob instead since I like corn. The apple sauce was yummy too, I have heard that apple sauce for such dinner is tedious to make.

The ribs were succulent and full of flavor. I had it at the BBQ Sauce choice.

steamed milk. Smile Jun 26, 2011

Categories : Chinese Desserts | Desserts and Cakes

I ordered the steamed milk, instead of what I saw that most people were ordering- the assorted hot dessert pastes: sesame, walnut, almond, peanut, etc.

The steamed milk here didn't taste like any ordinary bean curd, though it's not supposed to be. In fact, it tasted like real silky smooth milk pudding that tasted so unique and silky with every spoonful. It's like hot milk steamed till it turns solid.

A must try.

char siew & dumplings noodles. Smile Jun 25, 2011

I love how the char siew noodles turned out to be better than I expected since I thought I was ordering noodles from a regular stall in a food court.

The noodles were cooked to rightness, the noodles were springy. The portion of char siew meat was considered generous and the guy served me with lean meat as requested. The vegetables were green which means the vitamins still retained. The best part about my dinner was the dumplings soup; there were 4 pieces of dumplings filled with lean pork and a fresh, crunchy prawn in each. The soup was really tasty too.

All these for only $4 at the airport!

Mother's day (: Smile Jun 08, 2011

I got a chocolate hazelnut/tiramisu heart-shaped cake from Icing Room for my mom for Mother's Day. I had initially wanted to do the DIY vanilla sponge cake with assorted icing and decorations but it was too crowded so I decided to skip it.

I like how most of the cakes on display had the little "Best Mom" tags attached on them, though a small gesture but they made the cakes looked really thoughtful overall.

So the pretty-looking cake I got was relatively sweet actually but still okay on the whole, if you eat a small piece by piece. I really liked the crunchy biscuit base, the berries garnish and the chocolate mousse.

Citibank also had 15% discount off.

Tako balls with egg mayo. Smile May 30, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese

This is my second review here. The tako balls here are still as good-tasting from the last time I ate. It is no wonder why there's always a never-ending queue but no worries, the service is prompt and efficient.

The tako balls are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, best eaten when served warm. I chose the egg mayo choice, they come in 4 or 8 pieces. I also topped up a green tea macha to make it a meal.

Really authentic and delicious.
