fish slices ban mian. OK Apr 29, 2011

I was having a bad sore thorat hence I decided to order my dinner from the ban mian stall. I personally dislike minced pork ban mian as the fatty meat turns the clear soup oily. I had the sliced fish ban mian- a healthier option. But honestly, the fish slices used at this stall reeks of fishy taste. The lady also wore a grump look when I kindly requested for more vegetables. Also, this sliced fish ban mian didn't have any egg in it. The noodles itself were not too bad though.

Steamed Chicken Rice. OK Apr 26, 2011

I was rather disapointed with the steamed chicken rice from this stall. My mom bought a takeaway home for me for dinner. The chicken rice, no doubt smelled good but the portion of chicken meat was miserable. Not only that, the server also gave me mostly fatty parts of the chicken despite requesting for breast meat. Their chicken rice chili improved the overall taste though. Still, not fantastic.

packed dinner. OK Apr 26, 2011

Economic/Mixed Vegetable Rice, once again budget and convenient food when you can't decide what to have for packed dinner.

The cons are that these food are often oily and sometimes don't taste too good- junk food. Also, they would definitely lose out in comparison to home-cooked meals. But this branch is not too bad though.

Had one meat and one vegetable. I chose a soya sauce pork stew and fried kangkong respectively. Instead of rice, I opted for plain porridge instead as I wanted something lighter. It was rather okay, edible and acceptable.

Nonya Dumplings. OK Apr 26, 2011

Categories : Peranakan / Nonya | Stall / Kiosk | Brunch

My dad enjoys eating dumplings. Since I was out at town, I decided to get 2 Nonya dumplings for him for supper/breakfast.

The staff said that the Nonya dumplings here are really sellable. The pandan leaves smelled good and true enough, when it reached home and we ate them served on plates, the dumplings were rather yummy.

The glutinous rice grains were moist and the meat was tasty. The down factor is that the meat mixture was actually quite fatty, which I dislike. Overall it was still acceptable to me though, my dad loved them.

Chocolate Cupcake. OK Apr 25, 2011

Categories : Café

I have always wanted to try the hot food at Cedele, that being the main courses, soups, sandwiches and salads, and I still have not till now. I did try the cupcake here the other night though.

We craved for dessert after dinner at Chili's and decided to pop by Cedele for some cakes. Their cupcakes are so cute. There are many fanciful ones, some decorated with m&m's, some with colorful stars icing pieces.. I went for the classic dark chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting and chocolate bits.

Pretty presentation but I was a little disappointed with the taste as it didn't taste as good as it looked. The cake wasn't moist enough and the taste didn't shine, it was just very ordinary. Also, the chocolate taste wasn't rich enough.
