Not bad Zhi Char~ Smile Mar 30, 2011

Categories : Coffeeshop | Seafood | Zi Char

This Ming’s Kitchen is located next to the Singapore Pool near the 24 hours NTUC in Clementi. It’s inside the coffee shop called Varinice. This coffee shop is crowded with people when dinner time. They are selling zhi char kind of food including Chili Crab, BBQ Stingray, and so on. I’ve tried the Chili Crab before, it’s not bad. Usually, they are selling the crab at $3.50 per 100gram. I personally like their Hotplate Tofu. It’s a bit different from what I have in other food stall. The gravy is not watery and they add minced pork to cook together which it's give the sauce a good taste. You can find bean, carrot, button mushroom, shitake, prawn, egg and egg tofu on the plate. Previously they selling it at $8 but now they rose up the price to $9 maybe it’s too popular? Overall the food there is quite nice, except the Stingray. It’s doesn’t look like being BBQ. The Stingray is over soft like being steamed. The Stingray sauce is watery.

Healthy Sub Smile Mar 29, 2011

Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches

Having the 6-inch sub in Subway made me feel I am eating in healthier way. I almost forgot how to order in Subway because it’s has been a long time I never buy anything from Subway already. Let’s go through the steps again. 1st step– selects your meal (sub, salad or wrap). 2nd step – Choose your bread (Italian, Wheat, Parmesan Oregano, Honey Oat or Hearty Italian). 3rd step – Choose the size (6 inch or foot long). 4th – Choose your extra (add bacon, cheese or meat?). 5th step – Choose your veggie (Onion, Tomato, olive…). 6th step – Choose your sauce (mayo, honey mustard…). 7th step – Make it a meal or not?

I always love the veggies they stuff into my sub, always fresh and juicy. Do not choose too many sauces because the sauces’ taste will overtake the taste of the veggies and the meat or cheese that you choose. I like to complete order to a meal set that come with a drink and 2 pieces of cookies/ chips. Of course, I chose the cookies. Their cookies are not too hard to chewy but it’s nice. Not too sweet and not too hard.

The serving crews there do not look so friendly might caused of the crowed peak hour during lunch time. They do not give you much time to think of what you want and they will give you the fierce look if you take long to decide.

This bread shop is just next to the coffee shop at blk 325 in Clementi. They bake the breads and cakes themselves. Once you step in the shop, you can smell the aroma of the breads if they just take out the breads out of the baking oven. The price of breads is cheaper than the bread that you can buy from BreadTalk or FourLeaves. But the quality of the bread is almost the same. They have Milk Powder Bread, Lemon Cheese Bread, Egg Mayo bread, Char Siew Bo Lo Pau and etc which I think is special.

I like the breads that I mentioned above the most because bread is really soft and its smell so tasty before you put it into your mouth.

Wonderful BK Meal Smile Mar 28, 2011

Always like the onion ring from Burger King. You can exchange your French fries that come with the set to onion for free. The BK Double Mashed potato and BK Double Crispy Onion are the new items on the board. The BK Double Mashed potato is normal because the mashed potatoes are without any flavor but it’s quite special to stuff it inside the burger. I like the Spicy Tendercrisp. The chicken is tender and juicy inside but crispy for the outer layer. Try their Mexican drumlet also, it’s spicy a bit and you can smell it marinated with the herbs and black pepper. I love the Caramel sundae the most. The serving staff gave a lot of caramel for me. It’s a perfect blend with the Vanilla ice-cream. Stop eating chocolates and strawberry sundae, and try this caramel sundae now! lol

Ya Kun traditional Toast  Smile Mar 28, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

I am never bored of Ya Kun traditional toast and ice milk tea. Of course the running eggs also. The serving crew will help you break the eggs, and the eggs look so nice. Some coffee shop will ask you to break it yourself. I never see them fail on cook the beautiful running eggs. You can order your favorite toast and drink in set. They use the blender to make my ice milk tea. A little bit weird, I thought they will use the traditional way to make the tea. But it’s not disappointed me, the ice milk tea taste so good. I love their traditional toast especially the butter in between the bread. A bit disappointed on the Kaya, they spread too little on the bread. I have the urge to buy the Kaya in bottle that they selling at the counter and apply more Kaya myself. tongue Is this their marketing strategy? I don know. lol

I’ve to highlight the server level over there. They do not clean up the mess on the tables so frequent. I’ve waited for quite long until I cannot wait any longer, I stood up and clean up the mess for the table that I am sitting. When the it’s about to close, the aunties there give us the fierce look to chase us away. Of course, I am scared then I packed up and leave there asap. sad
