Gindaco Balls! Smile Apr 20, 2012
Categories : Japanese | Stall / Kiosk | Desserts and Cakes

I was craving for some Takoyaki balls and decided to buy a few back to satisfy my craving from Tsukiji Gindaco.

The Takoyaki balls from this store are simply awesome! It is crunchy on the outside and yet soft and chewy at the inside smile what's more fantastic is that they are really generous to give such big and fat octopus bits as the filling, and also the large portion of mayonnaise and bonito flakes topped on the balls are not stingy as well!

Chicken Rice for Lunch OK Apr 20, 2012
Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Hawker Centre | Brunch

It is the exams season again for students like us. As the cafe in the Jurong West Public Library was under renovation, we decided to head to the Kopitiam in the old wing of Jurong Point to have our lunch.

As we arrived at the place after lunchtime, there weren't many diners around and we could easily find a clean seat to settle down.

I decided to order the Chicken Rice Set this time round and it came in separate plates whereby the chicken is placed on one individual plate and not the usual way where it was placed together with the rice. I thought this was a good idea because the serving of the chicken given will be more than usual!

The chicken was tasty and soft. However, the sauce given at the bottom was a little salty. I was only given two small slices of cucumber beside the chicken and they were already submerged in the sauce that turned them salty as well. On the other hand, the rice was well-cooked, with the fragrant smell that was really appealing.

Meatball Soup with Rice for Lunch OK Apr 19, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Food Court | Chinese Soup

My friend and I decided to have lunch at the Kopitiam in the old wing of the shopping mall after studying at the nearby library.

Ordered this Meatball soup together with the bowl of rice. Although I had added pepper into the soup, but somehow it just had this sour taste in it. Nonetheless, the meatballs were really chewy and tasty! However the price of the food was not very cheap even though the ingredients used were really simple.

Fish Soup with Beehoon Smile Apr 18, 2012

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Food Court | Noodles

The good thing about having lunch at this canteen because the food here are rather cheap and diners get to enjoy the cooling aircon especially on a hot and sunny afternoon! smile

I was looking around in the canteen, trying to decide what to have for my lunch when I decided to order this Fish Soup with Beehoon to fill my empty stomach. The service was very fast and efficient; once you enter the queue, the store lady will start asking for your order, and by the time you reach the counter, your food is already prepared and can be served immediately!

The Fish soup was nice, flavorful but not so salty. The slices of fish were well-cooked as they were soft and without any smell from it. On top of that, the Beehoon were equally tasty and chewy too!

Overall, this Fish soup is really nice and simply worth trying smile

Nando's! Smile Apr 17, 2012
Categories : Portuguese | Steaks and Grills

My friends and I decided to try out Nando's famous grilled chicken after hearing so many good reviews about it. We arrived at the place at dinner's time and the restaurant was already crowded with many hungry diners. The good thing about the restaurant is that it is located right beside the biggest ice skating rink in the mall and we can get a good view of the ice hockey match while enjoying our dinner smile

However, one thing disappointing about the service as we waited for quite a while to be served as there was only one waitress taking orders at our seating area that day.

We ordered the 1/4 Chicken and Chicken Pita to share and was allowed to choose a few sidelines to accompany the main course. There was a list of sidelines in the menu to choose from and everything sounds so delicious! Hence we decided to get the Mediterranean Rice, Spiced Rice, Corn as well as the Peri-Peri chips. In addition, we were also allowed to choose the flavor of the chicken based on the 4 levels of spiciness; Lemon and Herb, Mild Peri-Peri, Hot Peri-Peri as well as the Extra Hot Peri-Peri.

The serving of the food were so generous! The grilled chicken taste absolutely fantastic! The Mild Peri-Peri taste blends well into the chicken and it was not spicy at all! On the other hand the Lemon and Herb one tasted a little sour but overall it was nice too! As for the sides, the Mediterranean Rice was delicious as compared to the Spiced Rice which had a funny taste. Surprisingly the Peri-Peri chips were french fries top with the Peri-Peri powder instead of "potato chips" that we first interpreted from the name on the menu. Nonetheless, the chips were just as nice and Peri-Peri powder adds on well to the taste of the french fries. Customers are also allowed to request for additional Peri-Peri powder in case you didn't get enough of the awesome taste smile

Overall the food here were really delicious and really worth the price! This is really a must-try food for many out there smile
