I've been to Simply Bread only once, at their Sixth Avenue branch, and I remember their bread being really fresh and tasty and the atmosphere really suitable for brunch. Went to the Cluny Court branch with my friends for brunch and its a much quieter, smaller place. The bread seems less fresh and a lot lesser in variety. I was initially quite disappointed that we didn't go to their other branch instead but the Beef Sandwich (i don't remember the exact name, there are two beef sandwiches, this is the one that has some "rare" beef in it) saved the day!! Look at the photo - generous amounts of good quality beef in a sandwich. Pretty pricy (about $10) but quite worth it as I rarely come across such good quality meat in a sandwich. The beef reminded me of beef jerky which I used to eat in US. Yum Btw that's just half of the sandwich (shared with a friend). Coffee was decent, and it was a quiet/ empty enough place to chill out with my friends on a Sunday afternoon. If you want fresh bread, go to the other branch. Otherwise, this place is good for chilling and their sandwiches. Recommended!

Went for brunch here and it was quite meh, so thinking that we're not giving this place a chance since its a dessert place, we ordered a few cupcakes despite already being quite full. All I can say is that their desserts (whatever that we ordered) were so disappointing! It tasted like run of the mill cupcakes that you can buy at any bakery for a fraction of the price. We expected a lot more because we thought 1-Caramel's niche was desserts. Also, the staff were cold we had to go into the kitchen to call them in order to pay. It was like they didn't want our business!

I love checking out new "hidden" places and Group Therapy was my latest conquest. They have all-day brunch, which is always a win for me. However I found their food menu slightly too expensive for me. Tried the latte which was so-so. The egg benedict was interesting as they presented it on top of a thick toast (is this a Singapore thing? lol) instead of the standard english muffin. My friend said it made the dish look yummy but I thought it made the eggs look really tiny in comparison. Surprisingly it was a good choice as the toast soaks up the egg yolk and sauce, making it a joy to eat. The hollandaise sauce was a little too milky for my liking but still good. (FYI my gold standard is Prive's egg ben so I tend to compare a lot, much to my friends' annoyance). Nice place to chill, might go back to try their specialty fruit beer, but only if I've the cash to spare!

Went to Maxwell for late lunch and tried Tian Tian because it was the first stall to turn up on Google (there's too much good food to choose from, had to resort to technology lol). Only bai ji is served at Tian Tian. The rice was very fragrant and tasty, not too oily too. The chicken slices were generous and really silky and soft. I don't think its anything really special or "wow" but I am 100% satisfied with this; simple and good quality food. Yummy!

Was at the Duxton area with my friends for brunch and we HAD to try out Flor as we love Glace (Chef Yamashita, the man behind the yummy cakes at Glace, opened Flor). The cakes were all about $6-7. The Cacao Royal was good, chocolate was rich and dense, but nothing special. The Earl Grey Chocolat was surprisingly sweet (I had expected a tea cake to be not-so sweet), but my friends loved it. There was a slice of banana inside the cake too, which was an interesting addition. However the unanimous favourite was The Vert (the green in french, i think). Its a green tea sponge/mousse cake, and it was sooo good. The green tea is flavourful but not overpowering, and its neither too sweet nor bitter, given a really fragrant aftertaste. The combination of sponge and cream makes this an easy cake to eat. Really interesting and recommended! Will definitely be back to try their other cakes, especially the much raved about strawberry shortcake.
