Indian food OK Dec 13, 2010

Categories : Indian | Restaurant | Curries | Halal

At Jalan Kayu, there is a stretch where you can find many Indian restaurants selling prata and other indian food. We specially arranged to have supper at this area and as we parked the car just beside this restaurant, we went in. It was quite crowded but we managed to get a seat. Some ordered their egg prata and for me, I had the Masala thosai. It was still quite crispy but somehow I find that their standard seemed to have dropped slightly. Taste wise not as good as before. Maybe for that same price, I might prefer to go somewhere else.

A chill out place OK Dec 13, 2010

Looking for a place to chill out then maybe this is a place for you. Wavve is a place where you can find western food, beer, drinks, big screens showing football matches. The environment was quite relaxing as the chairs are those big comfortable chairs. However, the food standard might need some improvement as I find the food not that nice. The chicken chop was a bit burnt on the skin and the rosemary sauce was too strong for my liking. As for the half spring chicken, the serving size was a bit small. More skin than meat. Having said that, it will still be a good place if you just want to have some finger food and beer while you watch soccer matches.

Tong Le Mixed Veg Rice OK Dec 13, 2010
Categories : Coffeeshop

So sad because the stall has employed a new staff and he gave me so little veggies and rice. Normally the other staff of the stall gave quite generously to the customers. I had ordered two veggies and one meat and it cost me $2.50. The sweet and sour pork was a bit on the sour side, I would have prefer it to be sweeter. As for the veggies, the stir fried cabbage and the egg tofu were very nice. The cabbage was crunchy and retained its sweetness. The egg tofu was soft. Overall I still find it okay. Next time I must pick who to pack my food for me.

Spending per head: Approximately $2.50(Dinner)

Satay and not Pancake OK Dec 13, 2010
Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Food Court | Chicken Rice | Noodles

It is night time and this stall sells satay. Happened to be in the area and was looking for some snacks. Satay that will be it and we ordered less than 10 sticks as we do not want to load on the fats. The satay was quite okay but personally I find it a bit dry as the meat did not contain fats at all. So this is one for those who love lean meat. However, I loved satay with fats. As for the satay sauce, it was okay as you can feel and taste the peanuts in your mouth. I will rate it average.

Sakae Sushi OK Dec 13, 2010

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi | Kids-Friendly

Sushi and more sushi....this is one of the japanese outlets that I can think of when I want to have japanese food. However, over time I find that their overall standards has dropped. Occasionally, I will still have my meals there. Their chawanmushi was still up , to standard as it was very soft and you can see it shaking when you scoop it up with your spoon. The taste was just right as you can taste the mirin and the eggs. I liked that. As for the sushi, I find it just average.

Spending per head: Approximately $18(Lunch)
