Texas Chicken @ Expo Smile Apr 18, 2012

Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal

It is the best chicken fast food restaurant I ever tried; the chicken is tender and nice. It is served hot even there isn’t many people in a Tuesday evening. It is well recommend by my gf therefore I decided to give it a try. Went with my friend after a fair, nothing much in expo for weekday too. It will be a nice event for patrolling Texas chicken.

Breeks Smile Apr 18, 2012

Categories : Restaurant

Went to Breeks Cafe Marina Square's outlet for late lunch one Monday afternoon. However, to my surprise, there were only 3 tables filled with customers in the entire restaurant. Hence, I ordered for myself their Grilled fish with bolo pasta ($18.90) The Grilled Salmon On Hot Plate was served with fries, blanched garden greens and ceviche sauce, still piping and crackling hot. It was indeed one of the best grilled fish I have ever tasted. The sauce was refreshing compared to the normal mixed sauce accompanying the dory, and the dory was grilled to perfection.

I tend to avoid Bak Kut Teh (BKT) especially the Teochew style which is overloaded with pepper and garlic. The only reason is that I get gastric pain. It's strange but so unfortunately true.

Hence, I went to this BKT after seeing many queues, before deciding to try the BKT here and I was thrilled that my delicate stomach didn't protest one bit.

I was very taken with the braised dishes that went so well with rice. It's a hearty meal which I thoroughly enjoyed without having to suffer at the end. The taste is Great and the staffs were polite and efficient.

Astons Baked-Potato Smile Apr 18, 2012

Categories : Steaks and Grills

I first visited Astons thanks to my gf and have been a frequent customer since then. The queue at their Cathay outlet is probably the longest and slowest one. If you have a growling stomach, do opt for other restaurants around cause the wait can take up to 45 minutes in extremely peak periods. Plus.. when you're hungry, each minute can feel like 1 hour >_< . however the food is nice, it is worth the waiting time, the food is served fast once you got the seat.

Then again, the wait can be slightly faster when it's a table for 2! we just skipped some queues from the front. i love their baked potato.

Japanese Gelato Smile Apr 04, 2012
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

This place offers a 10% discount at teatime. The soft ice-cream is good but can be creamier. The fried tapioca pancake is hot so you get a mixture of hot and cold sensation in the mouth when eaten with ice-cream, I was there for a chillout session with friends, and we got a matcha fruitti ice-cream. these choices because we planned to stay there for a long time (didn't want to go home so soon) and their ice-creams would have been polished real fast.
