Ramen Smile Jun 24, 2013

This is one of the nicest ramen I haven ever eaten since I got back from Japan. It tasted really authentic. This restaurant does not have a wide variety of ramen for you to choose from. I ordered their normal Ramen ($12). It was charged awfully cheap for such good standard. I added an additional $1 to add an egg. It is a MUST. the egg is really good, the white is a little soft when you break it into half, you can see the creamy egg yolk, the egg yolk is not fully cooked. the creaminess really evoke your appetite. the ramen is so springy, it does not stick to the teeth. there is only one piece of char siew, such a pity cos it really tasted very tender and flavourful. the soup is the ultimate killer, there is a black layer floating on the surface, it is in fact black ma-yu (sesame oil). it gave the soup a very fragrant taste. no words can express how tasty and delicious the soup is but no drop was left behind in my bowl.

I was feeling super hungry the other day so when i headed to Chili's with my friends, I ordered their Southern Smokehouse Bacon Big Mouth Burger ($25). it really lived up to its name! the burger was really really huge, there was definitely no way you can squeeze everything into your mouth. the beef patty was wholesome. it was super thick and fat. it tasted really good. the bacon is the bliss... no words can describe how delicious it was. they served it with thick fries. really filling.

Mee Siam Smile Jun 23, 2013

I decided to visit Wang Cafe for dinner, i like it that they sold local delights like mee rebus, mee siam, kaya toast and soft boiled eggs. This time round I decided to try their mee siam. I think it was a little overpriced because the dish does not have meat and yet they charge quite expensive. But nevertheless, the mee siam gravy was very delicious, the acidity level was just right, not too sour. They were pretty generous with the tau pok and bee hoon.

Spending per head: Approximately $5(Dinner)

After hours of shopping with my mother and sister, we all got really exhausted and went in search of a place to rest those tired legs. We discovered that Han's had opened at Jem. Apparently the restaurant was really huge with plenty of seating but there were of course a lot of people so the place was still packed to the brim with some people having to queue outside. We ordered a hot teh-si ($1.50) each, their teh-si is really good, the tea is very fragrant. the evaporated milk that added to the tea gave is a very smooth texture. It was not too sweet as well. A very warming drink.

Bibimbap with Chicken  Smile Jun 23, 2013

I had korean food for lunch, cannot seem to get enough though. I ordered the Bibimbap with Chicken ($5.50). it was pretty good other than the chilli sauce being a little too diluted. I like the pickled radish, it was a little on the sour side, very crunchy as well. The chicken was marinated very well, not too salty but very tasty. The egg yolk made the dish not to dry. Their side dish of kimchi and anchovies were really good as well.
