Sweet Wine  Smile Sep 28, 2013

If you are into sweet wine like me. This is something I like to recommend.
A sweet malbec from Argentina.

Had the opportunity to taste it before it hit the shelves next week.

This red wine is smooth, easy to drink, not overly sweet and overall a very lovely drink.
It's not heavy like port in terms of alcohol content.
It's sweetness is nothing like ice wine.

It's a very well balanced bottle I like to recommend. Heard from the owners that this sweet malbec is only available in their retail shop.

Do check it out. It will be retailing at $66.50 for 500ml bottle.

Flor Patisserie Smile Sep 28, 2013

Marron Pie, Thats what they call this.
There are many layers to this small piece of cake which makes it really special.

It is a very buttery and fragrant cake that is very unique because at the bottom of this cake is a crunchy puff like curry puff kind of flaky.

In the center, you get pieces of chestnut thats slightly sweetened.

Overall, the taste of this is so heavenly, you will agree that one small piece is just not enough!

Super Maggi Goreng Smile Sep 28, 2013

This restaurant is so busy on Friday night. If you visit, you have got to be prepared to wait a good 20 minutes at least for your food to be served.

I ordered a beef maggi goreng.

It was served piping hot. The noodles were moist and almost soggy but the taste was very awesome. It felt rich, creamy and flavourful. Its pretty spicy. ,The beef was tender and well done as well.

I suppose for a good plate of maggi goreng. 20 minutes of waiting was worth it.

Sour & Spicy Beehoon Smile Sep 27, 2013

I was walking around the food court at Clementi Mall and saw this stall which seems to have an unique offering.

Sour & Spicy bee hoon. At $3.50 a bowl, it seems like a very good deal too.

The bee hoon is not the usual kind we get. It's a little thicker like glass noodle. It was springy and had a nice crunch when you eat it.

The soup base as stated was sour & spicy. A little like mala but not as powerful in terms of spice. I like that i's a little sour too that gives the soup a well balanced. there were minced pork mixed in it as well.

Only problem I had was that the soup was also a bit oily. But overall, it's worth a try.

Fried hor fun Smile Sep 27, 2013

They always have a long queue and today I decided to join in the queue.

I ordered fried hor fun with beef and fish. Though the queue was long, the service was quite quick.

The hor fun was smooth and there is this wok burnt taste which makes the flavor intense and nice. The slice fish was fresh and went very well with the smooth gravy that's filled with egg. The beef slices was tender and very tasty as well. This dish was definitely worth the time in waiting.
