Awesome Ice Cream Sandwich Smile Aug 14, 2013

I actually got this from the cajun kings, but they were merely resale: these ice cream sandwiches originate from The Ice Cream & Cookie Co, which I have come to know from their facebook page that they have many unique creations, and they have a physical shop as well. The Breakfast of Champions was great - cereal milk ice cream with a touch of whisky, sandwiched with cornflake sugar cookie. The only grievance was that it was a rather small ice cream sandwich.

Cheap and good Smile Jul 31, 2013

Saveur offers affordable French cuisine in a causal setting. The wait can be quite long during dinner or lunch times. The angel hair pasta was quite popular and I found it quite nice, having been tossed in olive oil and added mini shrimps. It is also reasonably priced at $3.90. The duck leg confit with mashed potatoes, sautéed mushrooms and orange ($10.90) was also pretty good with a crispy exterior and tender meat.

Kueh Smile Jul 31, 2013

Poh Cheu handmade Ang Ku Kueh at Alexendra is very popular with foodies and for good reason. The ang ku kuehs were indeed excellent and have won rave reviews from many others. Besides the traditional peanut and red bean paste flavours, they also have black sesame flavours amongst many others. Priced at 70 cents, this is definitely a delightful treat for those who like sweet desserts. The ang ku kuehs were quite big as well.

Papaya Soya Milk Smile Jul 22, 2013

I still think that Mr Bean has the best papaya soya milk, even better than the papaya milk shakes from other stalls elsewhere, which is not thick and very diluted. Mr Bean's papaya soya milk is great when you are slightly hungry, as it is quite filling. They blend a whole piece of papaya in the blender along with soya bean milk, hence the papaya taste is very rich. Drink was also not too sweet, just right, and costs only $2.

Porridge Smile Jul 18, 2013

I was looking to have some chinese food the other day and decided to have porridge at crystal jade - its porridge is one of the best compared to other restaurant chains. I ordered the sliced fish and century egg porridge which costs $6.90. It was well cooked and the porridge not too soggy; I love the crispy crackers that came along with it; however, I didn't quite like the fish that day as there were lots of tiny bones. I also ordered the tofu with mushrooms ($10.90); well priced and tasty as well; tofu was silky soft.
