It was a Sunday and we made reservations in advance before we went; was a good thing to do as it was almost full house. I got the usual eggs benedict, and having tried so many, this one is rather disappointing. Firstly, the bread used is thick and dry, we all disliked it; second, the hollandaise sauce is tasteless. The only thing I liked about the dish was that small serving of fruits. We also shared the earl grey tart for dessert, which costs around $13 with 2 additional scoops of ice cream. Overpriced and there wasn't any earl grey taste at all.

We were craving for some cakes and so we decided to try Stranger's Reunion as we passed by the place. We had the green tea and red bean cake - it was a typical cake with green tea cream and bits of red beans, nothing special and wouldn't recommend it. Do try the crumble cheese cake, which was good on the other hand. The cheese was rich, but wasn't too overwhelming, and the crumble added a nice crunch.

Xiao Long Bao OK Oct 07, 2013

Paradise Dynasty is one of the best places for a simple meal and their xiao long bao is also great, arguably comparable or better than that of Din Tai Fung's. We had their xiao long bao, which were piping hot and the broth was very rich in taste. I also had their fried rice with egg - a common dish but fills your tummy easily; I would prefer din tai fung's fried rice with prawns though.

Good Sushi Rolls Smile Oct 07, 2013

We went to standing sushi bar on a Wednesday for it's 50% off sushi rolls promotion again, which is quite a good deal. I tried several sushi rolls which I haven't tried on previous visits, which included the Crunchy Shrimp ($12) - basically prawn tempura roll with seaweed; the tempura wasn't crispy but it was a rather decent dish. My friend tried their prawn tempura which was average. I also tried the Rockstar Roll ($16.90) which I loved; it's seared salmon covered with mentaiko sauce, mentaiko sauce has a strong distinct taste but isn't overpowering.

Variety of food to choose from Smile Oct 07, 2013

Brought my friend to this place as we were in the vicinity; it was quite crowded during dinner hours. They offer very affordable dishes and you can choose from a variety of combination - like fried rice with sambal squid, rice with egg, veg and prawn roll, rice with chicken and kangkong, etc etc, all priced between $3.90 - $6.90. My friend had the combination of egg, kangkong and their famous prawn roll at $6.90 - would have to recommend their prawn roll (ala carte at $6). I got the rice with garlic chicken and egg - preferred the fish but the chicken in this sauce was alright as well. We also had some garlic pork at $8; do avoid this as it is absolutely horrible, the black sauce overpowers the whole dish and it's basically diced pork (we thought it was pork chop and fried before we ordered). Do get the cucumber with apple juice, freshly made.
