Assorted Yakitori Smile Jun 01, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Steaks and Grills

Nanbantei is a small cozy restaurant that has a good reputation for good yakitori, grilled skewered food, which explains the perpetual queue, and the need for luck to get seats without prior reservations...

Went with 6 of my bestie to celebrate birthday...

Miso Soup --> pleasant. Around the same standard as those better entry level Japanese eateries...

Fresh sashimi moriawase and the potent wasabi...Great combination again. 5 stars for its presentation too...

The chicken was tender and the leaks were cooked through well, but the sauce was dense and obscured the chicken taste...

were truly exceptional, fresh & crispy...

The assorted yakitori were grilled wonderfully - all the sticks we ate had slightly charred exteriors yet the interiors were still juicy and there's a mild charcoal taste to heighten the taste of the meats...

is normal pea...

Their yakitori is the best, worth the try.... smile

Satay Sauce + Bee Hoon Smile May 31, 2013

Whenever I'm at Bugis, I will go eat my favorite stall at Albert Centre Market & Food Centre...

Here the sauce is near to perfect not overly sweet just a touch of sweetness with the peanut sauce puree just enough to have very slight crunch with right amount of salt and seasoning, it came with beansprouts, kangkong, tau pok, cockles, cuttlefish, pork slices and liver...The ingredients were fresh and succulent, and none of them was overcooked...

I always scoop to the last drop...It is so Yummmy...!!

One of the best Satay Bee Hoon to date...!! Thumb up!!

Since at Chomp Chomp, I wouldn't miss to try this stall...

The stingray is cooked well, and it is easy to tear off chunks of juicy meat...
The chilli complements the dish well, it is one of the better stingrays that I have eaten of late, the chilli is full of Hae Bee and is very fragrant..madmad

The tang from the squeezed lime provides a good balance of taste, making it a great dish to share with friends...

Again, I will definitely go back for more!!

Chomp Chomp Famous Hokkien Mee Smile May 30, 2013

This is a super popular hawker stall in an extremely busy hawker center after all!!Avoid peak hour as I waited for almost 1 hour... shocked

It was fabulous as it looked!! Although there wasn’t a strong presence of the smokey “wok breath” flavour, it’s so scrumptious it’s enough to make you forget that little imperfection...The flavours were perfectly balanced...There’s a good proportion of yellow noodles and bee hoon...No pork belly cubes were used, only prawn and squid, and they were tender and fresh...The fragrant sambal chilli deserved praise too, as it went very well with the noodles...

I will probably be visiting them again!!

HOT WEATHER, ICE CREAM Smile May 29, 2013

Categories : American | Ice Cream and Gelato

Most people know what the standard haagen daaz fare is - delicious ice cream at a premium...

Actually i went there quite few times, is time to give them review...

Nothing much about the ice creams here coz I was to start extolling the values of Häagen-Dazs ice creams you’d see no end to this review...Why so cause I think they’re the best off the shelf commercial ice creams around...The ice creams are rich and luxurious, full-bodied, tastes natural and most importantly they’re delicious...

I going to review their chocolate fondue ice cream with the biscuits, fruits and cakes but its quite expensive...The melting hot chocolate taste just right, not too sweet and is great to pair with the ice creams/cakes /biscuits...

This time I try their Flower blossom where you can selected 3 scoops of ice cream...try the Belgium chocolate is a must try!!
