Under the bento set,the curry chicken cutlet rice ($5.50) is the most recommended for it's portion and taste. For dine in,i have to pay first and then get receipt while waiting for the food to be prepare.

The curry for the cutlet rice taste very similar to Japanese curry,it is creamy and not spicy at all. There are also some small chunk of potatoes in the curry. The chicken cutlet uses chicken breast meat and is flatten to make it look bigger. The chicken cutlet is well seasoned and i like the dash of chilli powder on it.However,It seems like there is also sour plum powder added which make it more appetizing.

This bento set is quite unique as it is like Japanese-Taiwanese fusion dish and it is worth to try.

Crispy Noodles with Chicken  Smile Jul 26, 2013

One of the best place for cheap and yummy food around Orchard had to be the top few level of food stalls. This stall is recommended by my friend who is their regular customer.During lunch time, it is very crowded as there are limited seats available.

News station and snack bar offers cze char kind of dishes.I ordered the crispy noodles with chicken($4.50).The crispy noodles is fried till golden brown which is good as it is not charred. It is topped with simple ingredients like vegetable and chicken tights cube. However, the gravy for the noodles is a little salty but acceptable.

This restaurant is actually owns by Pokka brand and i expected high standard from them since it is japan operated restaurant.

Had this pork loin katsu set($30+ after gst and service charge). Before the food is serve, the waitress gave me a bowl and motar with white sesame in it.This to grind the white sesame for the dipping sauce. This katsu set come with free flow of rice and cabbage which is worth it for any big eater.

The katsu is in a thick slices and coated with fluffy breadcrumbs.Despite deep fried, the katsu is very tender and soft as it will literally melts in your mouth. The katsu set come with different sauces like the ponzu, vinegar, salsa sauce.

Boneless Chicken Rice Smile Jul 26, 2013

Went to Clementi Food Centre in an early Sunday morning.I expected queue at popular food stall and this Hainanese chicken rice has one of the longest queue in the food centre. Joined the queue and bought the Steamed Chicken Rice($3).

The presentation of the chicken rice is modern using black plate and they separated the chicken slices with the rice which I think is good as the soy sauce from the chicken will not soak the rice.

The steamed chicken is really good as it is tender and juicy. The soup is another plus point as it got a peanut in it and it is tasty(does not feel like MSG loaded). However, I find that the rice does not have a strong fragrant and flavor.

Braised Pork Smile Jul 24, 2013

Shin Yeh specializes in authentic Taiwanese cuisine. It is popular for their sweet potatoes porridge and the home style dishes.

Had the braised pork belly($5+) which is very flavorful with herbs and spices. The braised pork belly is tender and will literally melt in your mouth.I enjoy eating this dish as the gelatin of the skin is melted in the sauce and it gt the QQ factor.
