Lola’s café is situated off Simon Road and is relatively simple café that is less pretentious than many new upstarts. We were recommended the chef’s special fish and chips which we found was slightly above average. The batter was good but a tad too oily. We also had the Lola’s big breakfast which was something that can be done at home by most, except that the bacon was excellent because it was fried just perfectly which meant that I could taste the sweetness of the caramelized fats. This warrants a next visit to try out their coffee. Chicken wings was also fantastically good.

cakes OK Jul 18, 2013

Cedele prides itself for making good cakes using healthy ingredients and it has a pretty decent selection of cakes. The carrot walnut is very good. The cream cheese frosting went very well with the moist carrot cake and it was not overly sweet. The Dark Chocolate fudge, a cake made up of 3 layers of very dark chocolate with chocolate frosting, was also excellent because the cake itself was very thick and filling, with obvious good quality chocolate being used. A sure delight for chocolate lovers.

The coffee in Lola’s café seemed really popular and we had a cappuccino and latte. The cappuccino was good. The coffee was well-brewed. The latte however came across as slightly too milky but still pretty good. We had a chocolately looking donut which was pretty decent. Hardcore chocolate fans would surely love this. We also had the delicious fried chicken wings which won us over because it was not too oily and the skin was really crispy. Try the brunch menu (available on afternoons only)!

Fresh sashimi OK Jul 18, 2013

Mitsuba by Yurine Japanese Restaurant may come across as expensive when it comes to sashimi but they are definitely very very fresh. The scallops were huge and simply melted in my mouth. We also had the sushi platter which served up quite a significant variety of sushi. The salmon sushi was good because the salmon used was as fresh as the sashimi one. The wasabi was also hand grated and therefore also really tasty when mixed with the sushi.

healthy living OK Jun 27, 2013

I decided to live healthily for once and Japanese food is a good place to start. A better dish to eat will most certainly be salad and I had the salmon salad at Sushi Tei. Sushi Tei at Paragon is relatively quiet on afternoons and thus a good place to chill. The salmon sashimi was very fresh and therefore a pleasure for sashimi aficionados. The cut was a little too thick. The rest of the ingredients were also quite fresh except for the lettuce which tasted somewhat sour.
