SUGEE COOKIES Smile May 31, 2013

Bought a pack of sugee cookies on the way to work to share it with my colleagues, and to share the amount of calories too tongue
Sugee cookies are always a good tea time snack to go with a cup of tea or coffee.
This sugee cookie is long rectangular shaped, with a slight golden brown crust and is quite thick and tasty.

YAM KUEH Smile May 31, 2013

Categories : Bakery

I only managed to eat one of this yam kueh and the remaining went into my mum's stomach,hehes.. My mum likes anything yam.
Unlike the usual ang ku kueh, which has peanut fillings, this is a purple coloured kueh with sweet yam fillings inside (like obviously right tongue).
The thickness of the kueh is just nice. Not bad.I don't like kueh that is too thick as it seems like I am biting on a rubber, nor too thin as it will lose it chewiness, thus this yam kueh suits my taste bud.
The fillings inside is not too sweet and amount if just right too.

POPEYES CAJUN RICE PLATTER Smile May 31, 2013

Craving for some rice, I decided to order Popeye’s Cajun rice platter. The portion is just nice for a light or medium eater, but definitely not for heavy eaters or well built guys. Its portion is like those coffee shops' chicken rice except that is combined with a fried chicken instead of white chicken slices and is of course more expensive.
The rice has a butter rich taste, it is nice to eat at first, but after some mouthfuls, one can get sick of it as it is too buttery.
Fried chicken wise, I chose spicy, I like my foods to be on the spicy side.

fried fish bee hoon Smile Jul 11, 2013

The soup was thick and tasty with the sweetness of anchovies.
Took the first sip of the soup and I knew I am won over.
The fried fishes were also very fresh, soft and sweet.
One bite into the fried fish and how the fish meat broken down, we can tell the fish was freshly prepared on the day instead of using frozen fish meat.
The vegetables were crunchy and juicy which also gave a good balance to the heavy flavouring of the soup.

chocolate layer cake Smile Jun 19, 2013
Categories : Bakery | Brunch

I think this is the best bakery shop chocolate layered cake I have ever tried, for only $3, both the quantity and quality did not compromise though. It contains two layers of cake and two layers of chocolate cream, alternating, and then the topped with some sort of chocolate powder and then chocolate flakes. The cake layers are soft and quite moist and flavourful. The chocolate cream layers are creamy and chocolatey and also has a tinge of coffee taste to it. The chocolate flakes are generously sprinkled and matched perfectly with the chocolate powder. This cake is really good for your wallet and taste buds!
