cream puff Smile Jun 19, 2013

I was attracted by the variety of toppings available, all look so attractive and appetizing.
There are only two cream fillings available though, chocolate and vanilla.
I have tried both cream fillings before and I think the vanilla cream taste nicer and suit the puff more.
But I think the cream filling needs to complement the outer topping as well, thus different cream filling may taste better in different puff depending on its topping,
The puff itself has a texture of ice cream cone for the outer crust and english muffin for its inner layer.
The one in the picture has a white chocolate coating sprinkled with cornflakes.
Took out of fridge and ate, yummy, overall not too sweet and all the components, be it the puff, cream, white chocolate coating and toppings all matches each other well.
However, the cornflakes are not crispy, not sure is it originally like that or due to not being put in the fridge as soon as possible after being bought.

spicy shrimp bun Smile Jun 19, 2013
Categories : Bakery

After having tried their pork floss bun which I really liked it, I decided to try their spicy shrimp version which looks very similar, just different appearance and fillings.
Once again, this does not disappoint me, with the same bun texture and buttermilk filling, this time round, with their tasty spicy shrimp fillings.
The spicy shrimp too, matched very well with the buttermilk filling, giving both savoury and sweet taste in every bite, thus every bite is an enjoyment for me.
The spicy shrimps are quite generously spreaded throughout the whole bun too.
The seaweed flakes and sesame seeds are more of decorations though, didn’t really add up to the overall taste.
But overall, their buttermilk filling is enough to satisfy me.

pork floss thick toast OK Jun 19, 2013
Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

One may easily get pork floss sold commercially and toast themselves two slices of bread stacked together and top it with the pork floss to make this pork floss thick toast, but for me, foods bought outside just taste more interesting and get me anticipating.
The thick bread was toasted to a crunchy outer layer and a soft inner, and topped with generous amount of pork floss and then butter milk.
I am not quite a fan of their pork floss, too artificially sweet.
Their already sweet pork floss + butter milk = very sweet
I had to endure the already very sweet taste in my mouth and finished up the remaining toast to not waste food.

orange bread loaf Smile Jun 19, 2013
Categories : Singaporean

Selling at 5 dollars, this loaf of bread is about two times the price of those normal bread loaves sold commercially.
But, by the look of it, it is surely not the common bread loaf cut up in slices and packed into a bread plastic, definitely not.
It is orange flavoured, which was quite subtle but not to the extent of making one feel just like eating plain bread.
The bread itself is very soft and springy, which matched well with the crunchy almond flakes topping.
One good thing for this bread is that you can eat it on its own and enjoy tinge of orangey taste at the same time.

clapot chicken bun Smile Jun 17, 2013

Do not be deceived by the appearance of this bun, although it looks plain and does not look too appetizing, the taste of the bun itself and the fillings inside are a perfect match with each other.
The bun is not like those normal bun taste, it has a buttery taste and a tinge of sweetness to it, the most fragrant bun I have taste so far.
The claypot chicken fillings, although quite little, is also very fragrant and tasty which its aftertaste is enough to last through the whole bun.
I am totally in love with this bun, yummy.
