Collagen Hotpot not to be missed Smile Dec 12, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Steamboat/Hot Pot

I've finally tried the much-talk-about Tsukada Nojo Bijin Nabe (Beauty Pot - Collagen Hotpot). My buddy reached at about 6.20pm & the restaurant is already almost full. I rush my way to get there as fast as I could cos they do not sit you in if you do not have a full attendance. Alternatively, you can leave your contact number with them & they will sms you when there is an available table (which could take u to 1.5hrs). I managed to reach before the last table is being taken!

The buddy googled & says it's a must to order Nikumaki Onigiri. Basically it's rice wrapped in bacon. The rice is very soft & it was very delicious. We couldn't decide which one to order, so we ordered all the 4! Nikumaki Onigiri (standard), Nikumaki Onigiri with Cheese, Nikumaki Onigiri with Yuzu pepper & Mayo, Nikumaki Onigiri with Red Chilli Oil. We were told that the best way to enjoy it is to wrapped it with the lettuce. I love the one with chilli oil most

The lump of pudding look-alike thingy is actually the collagen (fats!). tongue

Once heated, it will melt & turn it into a of soup. The broth is from the best chicken stock found only in Miyazaki Japan. It is boiled & simmered for over 8 hours with Jidori Chicken (a valuable ‘brand chicken’ in Japan, raised organically with stringent quality standards) bones. I personally find it super sweet & flavorful.

The waitress will be around to help you with adding of ingredients so you can continue to enjoy your other food items (is any). The ingredients were very fresh

The ramen is also very springy.

After the meal, complementary pudding is being served with cute drawings & thank you greetings.

Cute Cupcakes Smile Dec 11, 2013

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Restaurant

After dinner wtih Sam, I met up with Ivy & Angela for desserts. It has been long time since I had the Dark Devotion, I ordered a portion if it, apart from ordering drinks.

As usual, it took about 15-20 mins for this item to be served, but it's definitely worht the wait. The cake is moist & chocolat sauce flow out immediately when it's being cut open. Vanilla ice cream served on top of the cake blends well with the cake.

When settling bill, I presented my TCC membership card to utilize my birthday e-voucher & was told that members celebrating birthday this December gets free cupcakes also! I was just expecting 1, but I was given 2 cupcakes. The cupcakes look pretty cute & it is sweet, moist & fluffy even after leaving it in the fridge for a day.

Decent Ramen Smile Dec 11, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Ramen

Dinner with fellow OpenRicer (midas400) after attending Melissa's VIP sale. As it was a Friday evening, every restaurant/ eatery are packed with super long queue, we settled ourselves here as there isn't any queue

I had the Pork & Chicken Ramen with Red Miso, which is flavorful yet not salty. Pork slice is nicely marinated & tender. Chicken is however a little bland, but is also tender. Ramen is springy. Overall is pretty good.

Oden for sharing, we ordered 7 pieces of it. The soup is nice while the items were pretty much normal, with most of it tasted like fishcake

Gyoza is good, with nice meat filling.

Kampung Burger Re-surface! Smile Dec 11, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Fast Food | Ice Cream and Gelato | Burgers and Sandwiches | Kids-Friendly

Kampung Burger (LTO - Limited Time Offer) is back again after probably about 20 years! Just like last time, Kampung Burger is built on McMuffin instead of the usual bun, a slice of pineapple, lettuce, chicken patty & cheese. The only difference is, it's main ingredient now is crispy fried chicken patty instead of grill chicken patty.

The chicken patty is very tender & crispy. The loaf lettuce is especially crunchy & neater compared to the shredded lettuce. Pineapple & salsa sauce also gives the burger a sweet & sour tangy feeling. McMuffin however is a little under toast. I would prefer it if the muffin is well toasted.

Korean Crunch is disappointing Cry Dec 11, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal

KFC has recently launched a new variant (LTO - Limited Time Offer) for their Zinger & Crispy Chicken - Spicy Korean Crunch, so I decided to give it a try. Couldn't decide if I should try the Zinger or the chicken, I bought the ultimate box which includes both the Korean chicken & Korean zinger

Korean zinger patty on it's own is a little spicy. However, with the added mayonnaise, it makes the burger sweet. The bun is also not properly caramelized & the mayonnaise sort of sip into the bun, making it a little soggy.

I was expecting the sauce to be on all areas of the chicken. but it was only on part of the skin surface. The part of skin where it's with the sauce is sweet rather than spicy, and with the sauce, it makes the skin slightly soggy. After removing the skin, the chicken meat on it's own is not even spicy at all.

I will rather stick to the standard zinger & the usual crispy chicken.
