Brings back memory Smile Oct 03, 2013

Colleague suggested going out to pack lunch, but since only 4 of us eating, we decided to go out for lunch instead. He drove all the way to Bedok Central market because I have been craving for lor mee.

The lor mee gravy texture is very thick, and sweet. It also has a hint of the prawn mee soup in the lor mee gravy but lack of egg whites. I asked for additional vinegar, the uncle pass me a bottle & ask me to add myself so I get the desirable amount that like.

It has been ages since I last had the lor mee here and it sure brings back some childhood memories. smile

Crispy Roast Pork Smile Oct 03, 2013

Colleague again drove us all the way to Bedok Central Market to pack lunch. As he wanted roast duck, we bought all our lunch from the same stall to save trouble.

Bought Roast duck with additional char siew (bbq pork) for all. Roast duck is well roast yet tender & juicy whicle the char siew is tender & sweet. We also bought some roast pork separately. Roast pork is also tender + a hint of saltiness. Skin is also very crispy & can hear the crackling sound when you sink your teeth into it. Nice!

Interesting item OK Oct 03, 2013

We were at Bedok Central market for lunch, so we took the chance to pack some dim sum back for tea-break mad Saw this fried round stuff on display and after checking with the stall owner, we were told that it's fried egg. We bought it without hesitation. Upon reaching office, I decided to eat it first.

I cut it into half to check the interior. It's actually pork with only a quarter slice of egg. The flour on external taste quite like oyster omelette while the pork inside is very salty but tender.

Belated Birthday Celebration Smile Oct 03, 2013

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Hotel | Buffet

Charlene's Super Belated Birthday celebration @ Marriott Cafe. Her birthday is supposed to be in Jun but she's on confinement and Carol is busy for the past few months, we only end up treating her this month.

They're currently offering Korean cuisine on top of the on-going International buffet for this month @ $65++. Thanks to the $100 Marriott Voucher which I redeemed from OpenRice Contest, I do not need to pay for my meal & only paid $15 =D

I wasn't really keen on most of the hot dishes, so I had more of the cold dishes. Food variety wasn't a lot but it was very fresh. Service on the other hand isn't as attentive as compared to my previous visit. It took them almost 30 mins to serve us ice water.

Oysters are fresh; prawns are sweet but crayfish are a little chewy

Sashimi are thick & fresh; crabs are sweet

Cold cuts - salami, turkey & beef; smoked salmon

Roast beef is very tender; salmon nicely baked.

Complimentary cake for the birthday girl. Didn't try this but Charlene's son ate almost half a cake & Charlene says it's nice.

Celebration:  生日

Nutty Caramel Smile Oct 03, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Desserts and Cakes

We were having dinner at The Soup Spoon Union & after shopping, we went Fruit Paradise for dessert

I had a pot of Pink Rose Bud Tea & a slice of Nutty Caramel. Salty Caramel cream on sponge cake with mixed nuts & fresh fruits. Salty caramel is salty while the fruits & nuts are sweet. Both saltiness & sweetness blends together quite nicely while Pink Rose bud tea is very refreshing
