Retro cafe OK Dec 01, 2013

Categories : Café | Burgers and Sandwiches | Kids-Friendly

Evelyn dated me & her bff to eat.play.love cafe today! This Western-Thai cafe not only offers Western & Thai food, they also have a corner for customers to show the artistic/ kiddy side of them. Parents can also bring their kids here to do some handicraft items while they enjoy a cuppa brew. Apart from the handicraft stuffs, cafe is also filled with vintage stuffs!

Pretty nice Tom Yum Soup with fresh ingredients

Sharon's Chicken Chop is a little dry but taste quite good

My Basil Rice taste very "microwaved". Not spicy enough & I can hardly find any chili padi & basil. Egg Yoke is slightly over-cooked also

My Nutella & Banana Waffle. Waffle is thin & crispy. Couldn't feel the fluffiness cos it's a little too thin. But it's still nice cos the amount of Nutella is quite thick. Not a fan of banana, so will be good if they offer it with Strawberry too

Mango Love - Combination of Fresh Mango, Mango Pudding, Mango Ice Cream & Sticky Rice. No complains from them too. I feel the desserts here are better than the mains.

We're planning for another visit sometime next month, so I'll probably fill my tummy with proper food & order only desserts from here.

Recommended Dish(es):  Nutella & Banana Waffle, Mango Love, Tom Yum Soup

Spending per head: Approximately $25(Lunch)

Pizza Pop! Smile Dec 01, 2013

Categories : Pasta

My friend and I met up at Plaza Singapura & settled our dinner at Skinny Pizza.

1-meter long Beef Sausage - slightly salty.

Truffle Fries - a little disappointing cos it's a little bland.

Parsley Mashed Potato - Ain't a fan of parsley but this doesn't have the weird parsley taste. However, I find this a little too buttery & creamy

While looking through the menu, I saw something interesting & decided to give it a try & it's called Pizza Pop in Vietnamese Coconut Poached Chicken! But how does it works? Watch the video below!

Pizza Pop in Vietnamese Coconut Poached Chicken

You're supposed to break the pizza & all the toppings will drop into the "hole". It's kind of interesting but I still prefer the standard pizza. The crust is even thinner than the usual pizza, but it turns soggy once it soak up the sauce from the topping. The crust is also kind of powdery too. Topping is nice as the chicken is very tender; sauce is slightly sour & spicy; and it's without cheese. Yes, because I don't eat cheese if given a choice.

Spending per head: Approximately $30(Dinner)

Yummy OK Dec 01, 2013

Since I was at Vivo City to help Jenny change her SIM card, I popby Saint Marc Cafe to buy the Choco Cro as Sam was raving about it.

Chococro - It was really yummy with chocolate flowing out after it's being heated. Thanks Sam for the recommendation!

Seasonal Matcha Daifuku Chococro. Green Tea Chocolate, Red Beans and Rice Cake are inside. The rice cake taste pretty weird to me & matcha too bitter for my liking.I still prefer the standard ChocoCro as I don't quite like the matcha.

Recommended Dish(es):  Seasonal Matcha Daifuku Chococro, Green Tea Chocolate

Back again to try the Fish Fillet Cry Dec 01, 2013

Was on my way home on Monday evening & to avoid the human crowd for bus 190, I walked from Far East Plaza to Somerset to take bus. On the way, I passed by SCAPE & pop by Bear Bites to see if the wait is long cos I wanted to try the Yam Bun. Did a check & went ahead to place my order since the waiting time is only 10 mins.

This time round, I ordered the Oishi Fish Fillet with Yam Bun & Mushroom Sauce. The Yam bun is just as bland as the Squid bun I had previously, but it was still very soft even after ah hour from purchase. Fish was quite a big piece & it was tender. Mushroom sauce on the other hand taste exactly like KFC's Shrooms burger.

Spending per head: Approximately $8(Dinner)

Salted Egg Crab OK Dec 01, 2013

Categories : Coffeeshop | Seafood | Zi Char

It was our first time here at this newly opened branch. We were here for late dinner after out mahjong session & there isn't much people, so we didn't wait long for our food to be served. We ordered a few items, including salted egg crab

Hotplate Deer Meat. The hotplate is also sizzling hot & the meat is very tender

Kogu wanted Chili Crab initially, but I remembered Sam was raving about the Salted Egg & Nizam's also a sucker for it, we decided on Salted Egg Crab. It was a little disappointing as the crab was not very fresh & the meat is not solid. The sauce was a on a creamier side & it was very delicious. While it tasted good, I still prefer the sauce to be drier.

Hot Plate Tofu. The hotplate is so hot it's sizzling even after leaving it on the table for awhile. It's been awhile since we last had this dish served sizzling hot from other tze char stalls

Yam Ring with chicken cubes. The yam ring is quite sweet.

Recommended Dish(es):  Yam Ring with Chicken Cubes, Hotplate Deer Meat

Spending per head: Approximately $25(Dinner)
