Da Lian Traditional Noodle Smile May 20, 2013

Categories : Teochew | Coffeeshop | Noodles

Came here for supper after my usual ball game session, typical coffeeshop setup with the noodle stall being the lone operator. They actually occupies 2 unit with the outdoor one along corridor popular with smokers. I sat indoor section where there is chn 8 tv playing on a large screen.

Ordered a meatball soup for $3 and also a lemon jelly (爱玉) for $2. I was told by friend that from 5am to 2am the noodle price will drop by $1 to just $2.

Anyway the soup dish includes meat balls, minced meat and bean sprouts. Quite like the sweet soup base and the chewy bean sprouts, overall a good eat. Only one thing to gripe about is the service standard of the staff, just not that too hospitable.

Delicious Saba Smile May 16, 2013

Wasabi Tei is a little Japanese eatery situated at 5th floor of Far East Plaza. There are only about 20 seats around a counter, in which the staffs will serve you from inside the counter.

Food-wise, I order a Saba fish set at $12 for lunch and a drink which is compulsory at $2 per seating.

The Saba fish was really delicious! Grilled to perfection with crispy skin and juicy tender meat. Saltiness is just nice as well, I was really impressed! The set comes with a bowl of rice, miso soup and 2 slices of watermelon after the meal as well.

Definitely recommended if you are looking for some good Japanese food at afford pricing. But seats are limited so you might have to queue awhile before getting a seat.
