this is not the first time i been to Paradise Dynasty but the first to try out their different flavours of xiao long bao. xiao long bao is one of my favourite food and i am quite particular over the texture and taste. The meat must be soft and the skin does not break easily and each of them must be filled with the delicious soup!

Original - one word. Juicy. the best word to describe XLB. cos if there is no soup inside, it will fail big time for XLB

Ginseng - a very light taste of ginseng but not very strong.

Foie Gras - Manz, i think other than truffle, this is the more exquisite XLB. The taste is like you have a mouthful of steam foie gras but i still prefer

Black Truffle - This is my favourite. I dont know when truffles become my favourite but this is definitely a must eat for me. Filled with 1 thinly sliced truffle. The relationship between truffle and XLB is a "made in heaven" match

Cheesy - not my cup of tea. I seriously find it taste weird when cheese is mixed with minced pork especially those that is marinated to XLB taste. Maybe i am not too cheese person.

Crab Roe - the most sinful among all but it taste sooo good.

Garlic - this one is quite normal except it has a garlic taste. Overall the taste is still ok

Sze Chuan - i almost choke due to it's spiciness .

scramble egg white with crab meat

this happens to be one of my favourite dish lately. The raw egg yolk mixed into the egg white and crab meat together with vinegar. It may sound a weird dish to many but it taste really good! the vinegar apparently can remove the "xin" aka raw smell and taste of the crab meat and raw egg yolk!

minced pork with seasonal beans

this dish is slightly too salty for me. But of cos it will go better with plain rice as we had fried rice instead.

Preserved Vegetable fried rice

i love this fried rice especially the vegetable! the vegetable is very crunchy and gives a different flavor to normal fried rice!

stirred fried beef with mushrooms

the beef is very tender and is stirred fried with black pepper sauce. i prefer the mushrooms over the beef haha despite the beef is very good. overall i love this dish too

A sudden obsession with bak kut teh lately which is hard to explain. Unknowingly, i had 2 weeks of bak kut teh already haha. my first one will start at old street bak kut teh where i happened to drive pass upper paya lebar road over the weekend. a pleasant surprise to find lots of eateries there too.

Old Street (PL) Pte Ltd
129 Upper Paya Lebar Road
Singapore 534840

something special that draws me to this eatery is their high tech food ordering system. Not something new in restaurants but in a eatery? this is the first time i encounter this.

he whole eatery is linked using intranet system where the menu is placed on a iPad that is located at each and every table. you can view the menu and select your order on the iPad and once you confirmed, you just simply check out your food cart and the order will be transferred to their main system and they will start to prepare to serve you your food order. a very efficient way as it helps to reduce manpower to take orders!

On the menu, you can choose ala carte items or set meal. for their set meal, it is super value for money as it comes with desert as well and is only about 12 bucks. You can also choose premium ribs for your bak kut teh if you want. not forgetting to mention about their dry bak kut teh which is not commonly found in other eateries

their set meal will consist of 1 bowl of bak kut teh with premium ribs, 1 rice, 1 soya bean curd and 1 you tiao.

dry bak kut teh @ $7.00. the dried one is served in a clay pot while the normal ones are using bowls. the dried one is a little too dry and has a burnt taste plus smell. however, it is quite special as it is stirred fried with ginger and their specialty dark soya sauce or maybe some spices in it.

for those who loves premium ribs, you can also ordered it as a individual item. the bowl of hot bak kut teh will consist of 2 premium ribs. The soup is not overly peppery.

preserved vegetable is one of the must order! a small bowl that is 3 bucks which is quite expensive haha. the vegetable is quite well cooked

for those who are the tau kee lovers, do not forget to order this ! Tau kee @ $4 bucks

Quietly located at 1 corner of Tiong Bahru estate, this cafe is not difficult to find. the deco of the cafe takes on a simple, minimalist design that makes you feel relax while having your meals. the variety of food unfortunately is not as much as i expect it to be. The food variety is mainly pasta, sandwiches and all day breakfast

Pancakes and mixed berries @ $12.90 ~ I feel the texture of the pancake is alittle dry. The mixed berries is too sour for me.

smoked salmon, romaine & tomatoes ~ $12.90. My col say this is good.

cheeky eggs @ $16.90. My col say this is good too.

For coffee lovers, not forgetting to order a cup of coffee to go along with your meal! although i dont really like their pancakes but i do love their coffee. =)

Banana cake

Banana cake

Banana cake

Banana cake

Banana Bread @ $5

the banana bread is pretty dry from the inside and is very sweet. According to the lady boss, they only use very ripe bananas and also they added raisins in it which explains why it is so sweet. From my experience of using gluten free flour, usually it is pretty dry and unless you use alot of butter. For health reasons, this bread is pretty healthy haha. also i prefer mine to serve with ice cream but they are just newly open, so we only get blue berries instead but it taste just as good. =)

I would definitely return to try out other food items on their menu.

for more food pictures, please go to http://princessmic80.blogspot.sg/2014/01/tim-ho-wan-ed.html

Tim Ho Wan open its first outlet in Singapore last year and I have yet get a chance to dine there for once. The queue is always so long. Lucky for now as there are 4 Tim Ho Wan-s so the queue gets "even" out. and I finally get to Tim Ho Wan-ed.

I had my first Tim Ho Wan at their first outlet @ PlazaSing. The queue is not as scary as before when i reach there at 11am in the morning although the restaurant is already packed with people. I was the 5th person to the queue and it took me about 15-20 mins wait.

there are some which i personally quite like it and some that i wont order it again next time. =). My personal fav would be their BBQ pork bun, Osmanthus Cake and steam chicken with fish maw.

Overall will i come again? Yes

We ordered most of their dim sum ( highly recommended ones) and some special dim sum that are only available at PS outlet.

Steam chicken with fish maw @ $5.50 .this is my fav! you find that the fish maw is rich in the collagen lo. the chicken is very soft and juicy. major loves!

prawn chee cheong fun @$5.50 . the skin texture is not as smooth as i expected it to me.but the sauce is really good

Har Gao aka prawn dumpling @ $5.50. Abit disappointed with the skin texture as it is not chew as i expected it to me. it is too soft and the skin breaks apart when i use my chopsticks to pick it up.

bean skin roll @ $5.50 which is also known as prawn roll for many. the chef is generous with the ingredients that you find it stuffed with prawn paste!

spring roll with egg white @ $4.20 . this spring roll gives you surprise! the skin is super crispy and the egg white is super soft. actually this is also one of my fav. dish that i forgot to mention lol.

dace fish paste soup @ $6. this is their speciality dish which i regretted ordering it. the soup taste too peppery.

Siew Mai @$5 and also chicken feet $4. I m not a siew mai person but this is quite good. They added mushroom to the meat and the meat is very well textured. The chicken feet is good as well.

BBQ pork bun @$4.50. like i say this is my favourite. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The BBQ pork is really good.

osmanthus cake @$3.50. last but not least this is really good! very refreshing after a good round of dim sum
