Excellent Coffee! Smile Mar 21, 2014

Upon stepping into this little coffee joint, I was instantly greeted by their friendly staff. The lady recommended me the 3oz for stronger coffee, 5oz for a normal balance of coffee and milk and 7oz if I like a very mild coffee. Their prices are also very friendly with the 7oz at only $4!

Certainly one of the loveliest coffee art around! I like that there wasn't any acidic taste and having such a good cuppa just instantly lifts me up smile This place operates more like a takeaway system as there were only a couple of seats and a sharing table in the middle where you can rest your coffee cup and have a chat with your friends. Although this coffee joint may be a little difficult to locate, as it is hidden under a HDB block, it is worth making a trip down!

Roasted Chicken Jap Curry Rice, $4.50

Roasted Chicken Jap Curry Rice, $4.50

In my previous review, I mentioned that I will try their Japanese curry rice. For dinner today, I ordered their Roasted Chicken Curry Rice! I waited for around 10 minutes before my order was ready. Upon collecting my meal from the stall, I was actually stunned. I didn't expect such a generous portion of ingredients for only $4.50! It consist of 1/4 roasted chicken, curry potatoes, an egg, side salad and curry rice! This meal is so worth it and definitely very satisfying! lol

Awesome lunch Smile Jul 21, 2013

I have always wanted to go Oriole Cafe & Bar after reading the many raves of this cafe online. It is conveniently located just outside 313 Somerset!

They are having this set lunch promotion from $16 onwards, from Monday to Friday. The set lunch promo gave us a choice of starter(soup or salad) and main with a complimentary beverage. Very worth it! As I wanted to try the Tagliatelle Beef Cheek which was not included in the set lunch, we decided to order 1 main, 1 set lunch and an additional drink. We chose the smoked duck breast salad as starter and my mom had the Char-grilled chicken with sweet potato fries as her main and a iced lemon tea.

The smoked duck breast salad makes a good simple starter for us.

The beef cheek tagliatelle consist of red wine & citrus braised beef cheek, mushroom, pasta and shallot oil. I love the juiciness and tenderness of the beef cheeks tongue

I had to try their coffee after hearing it is owned by Singapore's National Barista champ! As always, I love to see the latte art on my coffee and the sweetness was just right on my taste buds! This cafe has a very cosy ambience and I will definitely be back! smile

I love to eat these sesame peanut balls! So tasty! Never fail to have it every week, one is definitely not enough! tongue This stall sells one of the best sesame balls I've so far tasted. It is puffy and crispy on the outside yet chewy on the inside, so delicious! They were deep fried and then coated in sesame seeds. There are also sesame balls filled with red bean paste or lotus seeds, but the sesame and peanut combi is my favourite!

With Teriyaki Chicken Avocado and Drink

I always love dining at The Soup Spoon! As I was feeling very hungry, I went for the SouperValue meal, which entitles me to a choice of soup, a choice of half sandwich/wrap/salad and a drink. I had the Simon and Garfunkel Chicken and Mushroom Ragout soup, which consists of chicken, potatoes, carrots, and different types of mushrooms such as the portobello, shitake, button, oyster, abalone and enoki mushrooms. This rich and creamy stew is one of the more fulfilling ones when compared to the rest. Each bowl of soup comes with a bread roll. The Teriyaki Chicken with Avocado sandwich consist of teriyaki chicken and avocado slices with garlic aioli, mayonnaise, cucumber, tomato and lettuce.

Overall, both the soup and sandwich were good! I like that there are many alternatives here. If you're not feeling very hungry, a bowl of soup and bread roll would be just nice. Otherwise, you can opt for the SouperValue meal or you can choose a heavier soup.
