Lacated at the basement of The Star Vista is this pizza takeaway kiosk that is selling handmade pan pizza. They adopted open kitchen concept. Thus you can see the staff making the pizza. I have passed by many times but never buy pizza from them due to the huge varieties of choice available at the star. However one day after catching a performance at the Star, I was left with not much choice as most eateries are already closing.
From what I understand from the staff here, they have 3 slices of pizza for $10 everyday after 9.30pm. So I ordered a pepperoni, Hawaiian and chicken delight. To me, this is a steal as they were very generous with the topping. On top of that, the pizza slice was relatively big. Beside that, service here was really good. Do give it a try if you are hungry for some pizza but can't finish a whole pizza by yourself.

Don't bother trying Cry Nov 24, 2013

When I went to this outlet,I was quite surprised that it was rather empty. Having prior good dinning experience at liang court, I was hopeful with the food here as well. However I was rather disappointed. Although the location is easily access via public transport, the service here was almost of no existence. Perhaps this is also due to no GST and service charge thus can't expect anything in regards to the service here.
The mussels was in a really watery tomato liquid that I would not call as gravy. As a big fan of the Garlic Butter Focaccia at liang court, the focaccia here is no where near to the ones in liang court. It tasted almost like plain focaccia. The steak was rather hard but for the price paid, I guess I should not be having any complaint. Last but not least the escargots were another disappointment. Although it was really cheap as compare to many other places, the escargots were heavily laden with oil.
Overall, it was not a very pleasant dinning experience. Perhaps I have higher expectation thus resulting to my disappointment. But to be fair for the amount of money paid for this meal, I should have no complain as I was actually having Italian food in a air conditioned place with people serving me the dish. At least it is better than going to foodcourt.

After hearing so much about this new kid on the block, I told myself that I MUST try cakes here! However not having to do my homework, I was met with the closed sign on one fine Sunday as they are closed on Sunday. Thus I went again on a weekday. The shop space was relatively small and adopted the minimalist renovation concept with less than 5 table seating.Personally the concept of placing cakes in a semi enclosed glass display did not sit well with me as it tend to leave dust and such onto the cakes if the place was not clean regularly.
I ordered a chocolate macaron ($2.80) and strawberry shortcake ($6.80) as I was rather full. In term of presentation, they scored as the cakes are really pleasant to the eyes. However I find the macaron too sweet. The strawberry cake is rather light and the sweetness is just right. There are other cakes showcased in the display which are really pretty.
Overall it is a very nice and quiet place to spend some time alone or good for dating. Plus point about this place is no GST or service charge. However I think I will not go back again unless I am around the area.

mushroom soup : worth trying Smile Nov 24, 2013

Located near Drama Centre aka National Library Building, Rocky master is easily access via public transport with bus stop just at the doorstep of the eatery and within minutes walk from Bugis MRT. The renovation here adopted simple cosy cafe concept with some outdoor seatings. Personally I find this place very comfortable to chill especially if you are lucky enough to get a sofa seat. However do note that there are no power outlets or wifi available here.

The menu here is rather interesting as they offer a wide range of different cuisines from indian, chinese to western. I ordered lemonade( $4.50) and the coffee (devil's brew) came in a set together with the american breakfast($13.50). While the lemonade tasted rather ordinary, the coffee was smooth and fragrant. Not the best coffee in town but definitely worth trying.

Cream of mushroom ($6.50) here was really good. IMO it's better than the ones in soup spoon. Not only is the soup thick and creamy with small mushroom chucks, the garlic bread is toasted to crispy with finely minced garlic on top. I am sure after you have this, vampire will shun away from you. lol..Just kidding.

For the American breakfast, there is a choice of how you want your eggs to be done and I choose sunny side up. The egg yolks were runny( in the good way), the harsh brown was better than the ones at McDonald's and the best of all is the turkey bacon which was soft and tender with similar texture to ham.

Overall I like this cafe as the service here was good, fast and friendly. On top of that, the food served was good and the price was affordable. Definitely a place worth going back again when i am in the vicinity.

Located just a bus stop away from buona vista MRT / The star vista is this coffee shop that was rather famous for their XO fish bee hoon. However I have also seen a lot of people ordering the steak thus I have decided to ordered it to try. I have ordered for a medium rare black pepper steak but when the steak arrived I was very disappointed. It was one of the worst steak even. The steak was very hard and almost well done. On top of that, the waiting time for this was also very long.

Spending per head: Approximately $12(Dinner)
