Spicy Korean Box  OK Dec 23, 2013

I passby KFC the other day and realize they have this new "Spicy Korean Box" and it immedaitely caught my eyes as i am very into korean food. was quite excited as i was thinking if they come out with chicken that is of 4 fingers standard.
anyway, i went to get the spicy korean box meal at 48.90 which consists of korean fries, spicy korean burger and a lemonade. was quite shock that i couldn't change the drink at all for this meal.

the food was pretty average, the spicy korean burger just taste like spicy zinger burger. However the fries is much nicer than the usual thin-kfc fries. The drumlet was the best among all as the sauce on the skin is very tasty.

overall, i think $8.90 is abit pricey for the standard of this meal.

Spending per head: Approximately $9

Bak kut teh for lunch OK Dec 20, 2013
Categories : Bak Kut Teh

specially here for the bak kut teh on a rainy sunday. ( i love having soupy stuffs on cold days like this.)

we ordered 2 pork ribs soup, with peanuts, you tiao and xiao bai cai as sides and the total bill is around $26.

The soup is very very peppery. i kinda like it but not my friend. so i guess it is quite subjective to say if the soup is nice anot. however, we were quite disappointed with the pork ribs. It taste abit tasteless and the meat is very dry.

The sides are the other hand is not bad.

Overall, i will not specially come back for the bak kut teh here unless i am somewhere nearby.

Chicken teriyaki set OK Dec 20, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Kids-Friendly

I love yoshinoya because of their student meal set which only cost $6.90 (consists of a main, fries and drink. They have various choices for the student meal such as salmon, beef and teriyaki chicken. This time round i decide to try teriyaki chicken and it is very tasty. I like the taste of teriyaki sauce. however, the portion of the chicken is quite little. Also, other than the chicken, nothing much is nice already (the fries are normal and still feel a little soggy). Overall, I will only eat in yoshinoya when i am feeling budget or craving for their teriyaki chicken

Spending per head: Approximately $7(Dinner)

Desserts  OK Dec 20, 2013

I had dine in at pique nique before for their main dish and this time round i am back for their desserts.

I have ordered whoopie pie and classic vanilla milkshake. The whoopie pie is good. soft and i love the flavor of the pie. Classic vailla milkshake on the other hand is quite average, it taste about the same as those usually serve in cafe.
Overall, i think i will be back for the desserts rather than the main dish in future smile

Recommended Dish(es):  Whoopie Pie

Big bang gourmet hotdog OK Dec 19, 2013
Categories : Bakery | Café | Brunch

This is my first timedining at 40 hands and always read from the review that they serve pretty decent hot dogs here and decided to give it a try.

There are four different choices on the menu for the hotdog. They are Big Bang, The Classic, The Ottoman and The Odyssey.

I have ordered the Big Bang Gourmet Hot Dog and it consists of bacon, scrambled eggs, bolognese and chilli flakes, beef and pork sausage. it is like a brunch dish that is packed into a hot dog bun. And to me, this hot dog bun is actually quite mediocre. Nothing really fantastic about it. But worth trying if you are a hot dog lover like me.

Recommended Dish(es):  Big Bang, The Classic, The Ottoman and The Odyssey.
