Famous sea urchin pudding Smile Oct 22, 2013

When kerbside gourmet (the food truck) had a collaboration with the chefs from Lolla, in celebration of a festival at the National Museum, I knew I had to go and give their signature dish - Sea urchin on squid ink pudding, a try!!

The little cup (as high as only 8 cm) was really very puny and it costs a whopping $10. But in my opinion, size did not matter because I was mind-blown after just the first bite!!!

The squid ink pudding was tasty and the sea urchin was sweet and extremely fresh!!! Hop over to Lolla for a more generous serving.

Afternoon perk-me-ups OK Oct 22, 2013
Categories : Caribbean | Café

I ordered a chai latte which was very diluted. I couldn't taste much of the chai spices and I guess it could be considered pretty bland.

My sister's coffee latte was pretty okay but nothing worth dying for. Besides, the latte art (as shown) aren't very well done/pretty.

Wanted to get the tea time special (cake + coffee/tea) for a reasonable $8 ( i think) but was too full.

In short, there are places with better coffee around!!!

Organic food for the soul Smile Oct 21, 2013

Felt like eating clean for a day and hence i decided to pop by Sunny choice for some organic goodness.

As we all know, organic food comes with a price. But, it does not compromise on the taste as the dishes we ordered were flavourful and very tasty.

The first dish we ordered was the Tauhu Goreng with pumpkin sauce. Besides looking very pretty and colorful, it was yummy as well. Many different types of veggies came with it such as alfafa and carrots and the chopped peanuts garnished on top added a very nice crunch.

I also ordered their signature lei cha fan (thunder tea rice) which is a Hakka traditional dish. It came with toufu, veggies, peanuts, mushrooms and the tea provided was very awesome as well.

Awesome authentic japanese food Smile Oct 21, 2013

Having made a reservation in advance, our group of 6 managed to get a private room in Sumire Yakitori House, away from the buzzing conversations going on outside.

We were all very impressed with the food, especially the tamago with cheese and mentaiko fillings that ooze out upon every bite. We love it so much that we ordered seconds for this dish.

Other worthy dishes include the mentaiko udon as well as the fluffy egg udon which looks very unique indeed.

Service was good and we ordered via an ipad.

Afternoon Tea at ABC Smile Oct 21, 2013

Categories : French | Bakery | Brunch

On a saturday afternoon, the place was not crowded and I really love the serene and relaxing atmosphere in the cafe. The place is a little hard to find though.

The staff were very "on the ball" and sounded very cheerful as well. The wide range of pastries, breads, cakes on the display counter makes it very tempting to over-order.

My partner and I settled for the widely-raved Pear Almond tart which was very good. I especially love the sweet crust of the tart.

We also ordered a Lemon tart which was amazing because it encompassed a good balance between tartness and sweetness. A very refreshing dessert for the palate.

Sadly, our lattes did not have any latte art, but I must admit the coffee were very well brewed, with the right amount of acidity in it.
