Pre Xmas Gathering! OK Dec 25, 2013
Categories : American | Restaurant | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Burgers and Sandwiches

First time visit here this "new kid" at Vivocity with my gals for our xmas gathering. Since this was our first time here, we ordered the platters for sharing.

Condiments (from left to right): Beetroot, Mustard and Sweet Onions

Loved the sweet onions so much! It seemed to go well with anything and we loved it so much that we finished the first bottle and asked for a refill =p

Full Slab of Smoked BBQ U.S. Baby Back Ribs - $42

Mixed Seafood Grill - $52

Both platters were okay, with the preference for the mixed seafood which came with 4 succulents big prawn, grilled sotong and salmon. The only complain we got was the serving was too tiny for the price.

Good deal!  OK Dec 23, 2013

Ordered 2 dishes and get a free soup with OCBC credit card. Real neat! Luv free stuff!

Cost me about $33 for a meal for 2 for all these, which included the signature steamed chicken, sweet potato leaves and of coz the free soup.

Simply adored the garlic sauce which completed the yummy steamed chicken. This was probably the only time that I will eat ginger, in big spoonful!

Chocolate Heaven OK Dec 22, 2013
Categories : French | Middle Eastern/Mediterranean | European | Café | Desserts and Cakes

I tried the hazelnut chocolate ($8), loving it! It was very aromatic, if you adores hazelnut. I still remember it was quite late after work that I went to the cafe, and the warm hazelnut chocolate did help to perk me up.

My bf ordered the Irish coffee ( $9), which contained some alcohol. It was quite potent even though it appeared harmless. But the alcoholic taste became too overwhelming after some time, and so he did not finish the drink.

My conclusion: Stick to chocolate drinks lah! The safest drink of the universe! Who can resist chocolate anyway??

Chocolate Cake ( $6.80)

Ice-cream ( $7.50 for 2 scoops)

The chocolate cake was really thick & yummy. The chef damn generous to throw in so much chocolate lah.. HAHAHA... But hor, it was so "heaty" that I fall sick the next day... -___-

Timbre - a place to wind down Smile Dec 22, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Bars/Lounges | Pasta | Burgers and Sandwiches

Bar was still bar, so even though Timbre served food, the choices were limited to pasta, pizza and tapas. But again, the tapas & pizza that we had ordered were decently good.

Service was fairly good except there were times when we had difficulties getting their attention as we were seated at the far corner. This was forgivable as it dun seemed to be intentionally & it was really crowded. The waitress that served our table was really friendly & helpful. Thumbs up for her!

Lychee Freeze ( Happy Hour - HH charge $10)

I highly recommended this drink for all gals! It was sweet & served with a big lychee, & you hardly taste any volka even though it was one of the ingredients. But hor, if you are a hard-core drinker, then this might not suits you wor....

Tuttu (HH = $11)

I ordered another drink before the happy hour ended, which was either 9pm or 930pm, I cant really remember... Again, this appeared to be a lady drink with ingredients like baileys and strawberry. To me, it tasted a tad like cough syrup even though the waitress had said that it tasted like thick yogurt, not really my liking though....

Thin Crusted Pizzas

I must say their pizzas were really yummy, with "exotic" varieties such as roasted duck and of coz the family favourite such as Hawaiian. The pizzas were all thinly crusted and sliced in small square pieces. Hence Ladies, you wouldn't need to worry about the extra pounds of eating the crust nor feel un-lady "struggling" with those normal big triangular pieces. Very thoughtful indeed!

Try the half & half, if you cant decide which pizza to get from the long listing. Simply order 2 flavors at the same time and be served with just 1 pizza! Varieties without ordering too much, again a neat gesture!

Tapas

I tried their grilled prawns as well..... MmmMmm was the word. The prawns were big & sumptuous, lightly marinated with garlic, licking good! A must-try!

Korean BBQ Meat! OK Dec 22, 2013
Categories : Korean | Buffet | Korean BBQ

This place was HUGEEE!! Nothing fanciful about the layout and decoration, it was just like a very big canteen, very spacious. There was function rooms catered for big groups as well, coz we caught glimpse of the rooms and saw that there was a company function going on.

We had ordered Fresh Pork Collar ( $22 for 200g) & Anchange, which was Wagyu beef ( $49 for 160g) to share among ourselves. With the order of any bbq meat, it will come with free side dishes.

I was quite taken aback by the number of side dishes. They were filling enough themselves. And to think that, I was still pondering whether 360g of meat was enough to feed the 2 of us initially.. haha

Potato Salad

One of the few dishes that was not"tainted" by chili. A dish that we had to "fight" for it since both of us dun really take spicy food.. =p

Cold Tofu

This dish was still alright despite the hideous appearance... The tofu so smooth that it slided down the throat!

The BBQ meat

The waitress would help to bbq, which was so comforting to know! Not to mention, the meat were quite expensive, I sure dun wan to cha da ( overcook) those expensive meat slices... Hehe

The meat were delicious, especially the beef ( the darker colored ones). The beef were really juicy & chewy, it tasted even better when served piping hot! The pork were still okay, but it became tougher to chew when left to cool down.
