Spaghetti Smile Dec 29, 2013

Spaghetti aglio olio with broccoli, black mussels and prawns $24.10. The spaghetti was surprisingly good! All the ingredients were very fresh too. The tiger prawns were big, fresh and yummy. There was a bit of chopped chilli padi so it was slightly spicy. The serving plate was quite unique too. The pasta here is worth a visit!

Chicken porridge Smile Dec 29, 2013

The porridge here is quite tasty and flavourful. A big bowl of porridge costs just $3 and they are also generous with the chicken meat which is quite tender and soft. The chicken has no fats or skin so it will appeal to the health-conscious. The porridge is not watery too and has just the right texture.

Laksa OK Dec 28, 2013

Laksa $4.30. I'm not sure if the standard of their laksa had gone downhill or because it was just the different cook. The laksa was too rich in flavour which made me a little scared as the taste lingered on my tastebuds for quite some time. It was spicy but there was something that was just lacking. There were many ingredients in it but the taste of the laksa seemed a little off.

Porridge & Yu Sheng Smile Dec 28, 2013

Pork congee $2.50. I love the watery yet not diluted texture of the porridge. Although it was rather bland, the taste was improved after adding extra seasoning. The texture of the congee was very smooth and fine though.

Yu sheng $4. freshly sliced sashimi with lots of ginger, green onions and chopped red chilli.. yummy! It may look gross but it actually tasted good even though they were thinly sliced. There was a slight "bone" texture on some slices though! Serving was also generous!

Hokkien Mee OK Dec 28, 2013   (Related Review)

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Coffeeshop | Noodles

As the name of the stall suggests, this stall is better known for its hokkien noodle which costs $3. It was recommended by my gf so I decided to try it to see if it tastes better than the famous hokkien mee at bukit batok west. The texture of the noodles was surprisingly very smooth but the sotong was a bit hard (too chewy). The prawns, although not large, were fresh and deshelled.

Verdict? I still prefer the one from the coffeeshop at Bukit Batok West!
