Went Sofra Turkish Cafe & Restaurant to celebrate a colleague’s birthday. The restaurant is cozy and spacious, great for lunch or dinner gathering with big group of people. They offer set lunches which includes a main and a drink. I ordered Doner Kebap Rice – Chicken Kebap with Turkish fragrant rice. The portion is relatively big. The Turkish fragrant rice surprising delicious! It has a light coconut fragrant and somewhat similar to the rice of Nasi Lemak! It is also quite special because there are some brownish bee hoon in the rice. The Chicken Kebap is juicy and the side salad is refreshing! I will definitely return to venture more items in the menu! lol

Spooky Shopfront

Saw their posts in Facebook, Halloween themed cupcakes! So I decided to pop by after work. Seems like they are ready for Halloween – their store is decorated with spider webs!
Assaulted Caramel

Assaulted Caramel

Assaulted Caramel is actually Saucy Salted Caramel with additional touch of blood red frosting. It tasted as awesome, well-balanced between sweetness and saltiness. smile
Melodramatic Frankie

Melodramatic Frankie

Check out the Melodramatic Frankie, doesn't it look adorable? tongue Mint green frosting and chocolate base is indeed refreshing!
So Singaporean

So Singaporean

There is also a new flavor which I got to try for the first time – So Singaporean. The color of the cupcake is very appealing. The base is pandan flavor with some kaya in the core. I personally feel that it is too sweet. sad

Their regular flavors are price at $4.20 individually and premium flavors are priced at $4.80 individually. It is a little pricey, however if you get half a dozen, it will be $4.00 each for regular flavors and $4.50 for premium flavors. If you get a box of 9, assorted flavors, it will be $35 and a box of 12, assorted flavors, it will be $45. The more you get, the price for each cupcake is lower!

Koo Kee Yong Tow Foo Mee OK Oct 17, 2013

If you have craving for Yong Tau Foo but is lazy to pick or select your items, you can patronize Koo Kee Yong Tow Foo Mee. The Yong Tau Foo includes fishball, tau pok, tau kee and tau hu. My favorite is the tau kee and the fishball. The tau kee is slightly salty but after dipping into the sauce it is just right. The fishball is very bouncy and the soup is quite tasty. You can also order sides like nan ru kang kong, which is appetizing and goes well with the noodles.

Traditional Tau Huay Smile Oct 17, 2013

Unlike Lao Ban Tau Huay, Whampoa Soya Bean and Grass Jelly serve traditional Tau Huay which is silky and smooth. It is hard to find this quality of traditional Tau Huay these days. Their queue is endlessly long, that shows how good their desserts are. My mother likes the combination of soya bean and grass jelly drink. For $1, you can get a large cup! I think it is rather bang for the buck. lol

Claypot Chicken Rice Smile Oct 17, 2013

Claypot Chicken Rice

Claypot Chicken Rice

Luk Lu Eating House is an old coffee shop located along Beach Road. Although the exterior of the coffee shop is not appealing, there are several great stalls in there. One of which is the Fei Kee Claypot Chicken Rice! If the queue for Blanco Fish Soup is long, try this! The average waiting time is about 15 minutes because the chef starts to cook after you place your orders. There are boneless and skinless chicken meats, taiwan sausages, crunchy dried shrimps and cabbages in the piping hot claypot. The chicken meat is very tender and the rice is cooked just right. Each mouthful of rice together with the crunchy dried shrimps is simply delicious! bowlchopstick
