Went to Sapore Italiano at NUS U-town with my friend and we had pasta, pizza and some drinks. I feel that the food borders on average and they were quite expensive. The pasta sauce wasn’t as creamy as I wanted it to be. It tasted a bit bland to go with the already bland pasta. However the serving is quite a lot and so I had trouble finishing mine because it wasn’t very delicious and the pasta were a little tough to bite. (I wished they had cooked them a little bit longer) The pizza also tastes like something you can bake at home because there is nothing special about it.

Spending per head: Approximately $18(Dinner)

Not-so-tasty Chwee Kueh Cry Nov 25, 2013

Chwee kueh

Chwee kueh

I only realised recently that Koufu sells paus, chee cheong fun and chwee kueh among other stuffs. Bought a plate of chwee kueh (4 for $1) for I only wanted something light and I am glad that I didn’t buy more than that. I find that there wasn’t enough preserved radish (the brown bits on top) and the chwee kueh (steamed rice cake) was quite hard and didn’t have the texture chwee kuehs normally have. Quite disappointed.

Not so awesome food Cry Nov 18, 2013

I am a big fan of Everything with Fries (EwF) for I usually frequent the outlet at Orchard Central (OC).

So one day I passed by the outlet at Holland Village and entered the restaurant thinking it had be the same. For one, it is different. Unlike the OC outlet, you do not have to first purchase your food at the counter (like a fast food restaurant). Instead you will be seated and then handed the menu.

Like all the other EwF outlets, their interior is largely dressed in white. My friend and I were shown to a two-seater as the restaurant is slowly filling in with customers.

I ordered the Battered Fish sandwich ($13.90). The dish arrived and I noticed it was quite different from the one served at the OC outlet.

I was sorely disappointed because the dish turned out to be a flop. There wasn't anything great about the dish at all. Perhaps I just happened to dine at an inappropriate time where the cook wasn't in a good mood or something. My friend ordered the same and he had the same sentiments as do I.

Oh well, sometimes I guess its best to stick to where you normally head to.

Pretty Yogurt  OK Dec 31, 2014
Categories : Frozen Yogurt

So what is one of the latest food fad to hit Singapore and flood our instagram feed a few months ago? Llaollao! I actually did not heard about it until i see several of my friends posting pictures of this frozen treat and was immediately tempted to try it for myself.

As i was at Raffles City, i decided to head to the nearest outlet, which is the one at Marina Link, which was pretty hard to find but once you know where it is, its actually easy to walk there.

I got the Sanum, which increased prices recently from $5+ to $6+. The thing i like about this is that you get to choose 2 toppings and also 1 sauce, which means you get to choose the kind of flavours and textures you want in your yoghurt. But that is also one thing i didn't like. Cause all the different flavours just throws off the ratio of yoghurt to toppings and soon you find yourself tasting more of the toppings than the yoghurt. Like it overwhelms the yoghurt. Anyway I think it was a pretty good deal until they decided to rise the price. mad

So-So breakfast food OK Dec 31, 2014
Categories : Café | Desserts and Cakes | Burgers and Sandwiches | Brunch

So whilst walking around Holland Village, i decided to bring my friends to MU Parlour having heard many rave reviews about the place. It was a weekday afternoon and so there wasn't much people. They have several sofa chairs, and also some metal tables and chairs as well. There was a place for people to people-watch as well.

I was hungry and so i ordered their breakfast food. Actually there wasn't much choices for me to choose from so i went for the breakfast food, which comes served with eggs benedict, sausage, bacon and salad. Which sounds like a very safe choice... not unless you like vinegar A LOT. There was a strong taste of vinegar amidst the eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce. Which i didn't fancy so i didn't finish it at all.

I also wasn't too pleased with the service cause the staff forgot about the coffee my friend ordered and we had to remind them.

On a brighter note, the place serves beautifully crafted desserts so while i may excuse myself from the main dishes, i may go for the desserts next time.
