So I'm back at one of my fav sushi places for dinner and of course I was gonna order sushi instead of their don or other types of food tongue

Softshell Crab Maki

Softshell Crab Maki

I've ordered their Softshell Crab Maki before and really liked it, hence I got it again this time. I really like how the crab seemed really fresh and the coating of the seaweed on the outside made the entire maki taste much better.

Ebi Tempura Maki with Pitan

I also got the Ebi Tempura Maki with Century Egg. I couldn't really taste the century egg hence I was quite disappointed... wished the century egg taste could be stronger.

Salmon Miso Soup

Salmon Miso Soup

I wanted some soup to go along with the sushi, so I got the Salmon Miso Soup, which came with some salmon chunks, glass noodles, bean sprouts and thinly sliced radish. The soup was quite rich and didn't really taste like miso. It tasted a little herbal but I did like the taste though.

I'm not a fishball noodle type of person, but was suddenly craving for it.

Mee Pok with Ketchup

Mee Pok with Ketchup

I got myself the dry version and chose mee pok for the noodle. Because I didn't want chilli, they asked if I wanted ketchup instead so I said ok. The noodles were still al dente with a nice bite to it, and the ketchup gave the noodles a slight sweetness which I quite liked. There were also some pieces of lard which remained rather crispy even after being coated with ketchup. It was quite nice...didn't taste oily too.

Fishball Soup

There were 5 huge fishballs given. Pretty yummy and very bouncy lol

Spending per head: Approximately $5(Lunch)

Satisfying lunch :D Smile Dec 09, 2014   (Related Review)

Was craving for their Niku Udon (beef udon) which is one of my favs at Sushi Tei, so I decided to head there for lunch to satisfy my craving.

Niku Udon

Niku Udon

What I love about this dish is the generous amount of beef and how tender the meat is. The udon is also soft and chewy. Combined with the soup and seaweed, this is really comfort food for me smile However the soup this time round was a lot cloudier and oilier than normal, which is very strange because I've ordered this dish many times and the soup is always very clear. Not sure what happened today...however the taste of the soup was still equally good.

Ebiko Avocado Maki

Ebiko Avocado Maki

Was feeling peckish so I also ordered some sushi for myself - Ebiko Avocado Maki. I wished there was more ebiko (flying fish roe) but I was still very satisfied with this maki. I really loved the soft creamy avocado within...makes me want to have more of it right now!

I don't think the food at Sushi Tei is all yummy but I definitely love the 2 dishes I ordered today and they have been consistently good too.

Hits & Misses OK Nov 22, 2014

The boss and lady boss were quite strange. But never mind, the food is the reason why we are here!

So we ordered the set which was around $335++ for 10 pax. It was really worth it because there were many dishes, and you could actually change some dishes if you don't like what you see in the set menu!

Thai Rice Crispies

Thai Rice Crispies

First up was the Thai Rice Crispies with a side of coconut chicken. It was like curry coconut gravy but without the spice. Not bad!

Thai Mango Salad

Thai Mango Salad

This was the mango salad. I feel it's so-so only.

Stuffed Chicken Wing

Stuffed Chicken Wing

The stuffed chicken wings were quite good, very crispy too.

Thai Otah

Thai Otah

The presentation of the Thai otah was really cute. Taste-wise, it had a slight otah fragrance but wasn't spicy at all.

Prawns with Thai Chilli Sauce

Prawns with Thai Chilli Sauce

Here's the huge plate of prawns in Thai sweet chilli sauce. Not bad..Prawns were big and succulent.

Mango Sticky Rice

Mango Sticky Rice

Was looking forward to this dessert! Some of the mango were slightly sour, but other than that it was okay...at least it satisfied my craving for a bit!

I didn't take photos of all the dishes, but there was also olive rice (so-so), fish maw soup which was not bad but really little, and deep-fried pomfret fillets which was really good. For the soup, we asked to have half changed to tom yam soup which wasn't spicy at all (and I'm very sensitive to spicy things). It was a huge let down considering how Thai food = tom yam soup. Another bad point is that their drinks are served in a really small portion. Just a few mouthfuls and it's all gone! sad

Yummy Seafood Zi Char! Smile Nov 18, 2014

This stall seemed to be doing really good business as they are occupying the space of 3 stalls! We decided to give this stall a try.

Sambal Stingray

Sambal Stingray

The sambal stingray was fresh and meaty topped with lots of yummy sambal. Slurp!

Sambal Lala/Clams

Sambal Lala/Clams

This was really good too! Just seeing the pic is making me drool again. There were a lot of meaty clams which made me really happy (the clams from some other stalls are often very tiny and most times alot of the clams remain closed) plus the sambal was super yummy! It was sweet, savoury and spicy and I could just have the sambal with rice alone lol

Definitely recommend this stall!
