Yummy Jap Bento!  Smile Jan 22, 2014
Categories : Japanese | Food Court

Had a takeaway of the Salmon & Chicken Bento from this stall that sells both Japanese and Korean food. It's a big portion of rice with a generous serving of fried chicken and a reasonably big piece of salmon at only $5. Very satisfying and delicious lunch at a reasonable price! In comparision to the salmon bento from Umisushi which I always buy from, this is really very value for money and the taste is comparable to that of Umisushi as well!

Best Char Kway Teow! Smile Jan 22, 2014

This is absolutely the best char kway teow I have eaten so far, and is also my childhood favourite. I guess that sort of played a part, cos despite trying char kway teow from other places, none can please me other than this stall. I still like this best! Fried to perfection with a slightly moist texture with just the right amount of dark sweet soya sauce, it's flavourful and aromatic. You can smell the wok aroma from afar. The char kway teow looks very appetising too! I always order mine without the cockles, but it is still as yummy! There is always a long queue during peak lunch and dinner hours... I say it is definitely worth the wait!

Average only! OK Jan 22, 2014

Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

Was craving for milk tea after lunch in Chinatown Point. Usually I will go to the People's Park to get my bubble tea fix, since Koi is my favorite, but decided to try something new. The store was quite quiet, no need to queue at all, unlike where queuing is the norm at Koi. I had their A-Gan Signature Milk Tea at 50% sugar, didnt quite like it as it was quite diluted, the milk and tea proportion doesn't seems right. I am not sure if its this outlet only, coz heard quite good reviews about their signature milk tea. But again, reviews are very subjective and does not reflect everyone's opinions. It simply doesn't suit my tastes smile

Nice Grilled Chicken Wings Smile Jan 21, 2014

Chicken Wings

Chicken Wings

Brought my overseas friends for dinner here since there are so many stalls and famous food to choose from here. We were craving for chicken wings so bought that to try since we were sitting near that stall. This food centre is too big, so it's better and more convenient to sit around the stalls we buy from. Each chicken wing cost $1.50, grilled nicely and slightly burnt on the skin. Yummy! Didnt had high expectations for the chicken wings since it's the first time we are buying from this stall, but it did not disappoint!

On another occasion, we ordered the stingray. Sadly, it wasnt the usual yummy stingray that I have always eat in hawkers like Chomp Chomp or Newton. Instead, it's overly spicy and tasted like a normal spicy fish to me. Next time, I shall just stick to the chicken wings... love them!

The stall uncle is a very friendly figure. It's really a pleasure to be able to patronise such a friendly, and always smiling guy!

Not my type of Beancurd OK Jan 21, 2014
Categories : Hawker Centre | Desserts and Cakes

My friends were raving over how good the beancurd was then, so I had to try it for myself. Bought it home to try when I was having lunch at Maxwell. It is perhaps a very objective thing when it comes to food, since tastes varies for different people. I, belongs to the group who does not like Lao Ban. To me, beancurd is not pudding, but Lao Ban beancurd is not the traditional type of beancurd but is instead in a pudding form. The original flavour is quite milky for me, and I got quite sick of it after a few mouthfuls. Didnt like it at all. The almond was much better, at least still acceptable for my taste. Perhaps, Lao Ban appeals more to the younger people. My younger sis loves their original beancurd while I simply dont like it. tongue
