We visited the restaurant late, almost past lunch time, and the restaurant was only opened half day on that particular day. Fortunately, we managed to get in, and we were their last guests for the day.

We knew that the restaurant was going to close for the day soon so we didn't order much. This is Akamaru Shinaji Special, we ordered it with the noodle cooked to medium hardness. The tonkatsu soup was enhanced with umami dama (special blended miso paste) and fragrant garlic oil, so thick and heavenly! This is easily one of the best ramen I ever had!

Can you see the thick fat layer on the pork cube?

We had calpis to go with the meal, a refreshing and tangy sweet drink!

In order to maintain utmost quality of the food served, the restaurant do not do takeaway or pack your leftover food, so be sure to bring your empty stomach!

I have always associated organic food = pricey + bland taste. This shop totally change my notion about organic food. Firstly, the food are selling at reasonable price, all the main courses are below $10; secondly, each plate of the dishes are so colourful and the taste is certainly far from bland.

One of the dishes that I used to order every time was Thunder Tea. I think it is their signature dish as they feature it on the poster displayed outside the shop. Slowly, I explored to other food and I found several other 'new loves'

This dish is called abacus, probably due to the shape of the dough with the resemblance of abacus. It is a Hakka dish.

Now I order this almost every time I visited the shop, it is called fruit rojak. Instead of prawn paste, they uses lemon juice. It is such a refreshing dish!

We ordered chendol as the dessert. I wasn't expecting any difference with the conventional chendol.

But voila! Instead of attap seed, they use sea coconut; instead of the green flour worms, they use green tea agar-agar. For those of you concerned about the coconut milk, don't be, the soya bean milk was used in place of coconut milk!

So if you want some healthy meals without burning a hole in your wallet, do pay a visit to their restaurant!

We were recommended by our friend to try the St. Louis Pork Ribs here. It was said to resemble the pork ribs from the famous Naughty Nuri's Warung in Bali, Indonesia. The style, maybe yes; the taste, still a far cry from the char-grilled ribs from Naughty Nuri's Warung. That said, we like how the sambal matah complemented the ribs.

I didn't know that this place is actually famous for their coffee. Apparently the owner, Keith Ong, was awarded the best barista in the Singapore National Barista Championships 2010. The coffee I ordered here was chilli chocolate mocha, it is one of their competition coffee. I like how they blend the strong and bold ristretto with fresh chilli juice. There is only one word to describe it - shiok!

Nice little cake OK Mar 26, 2014

Categories : Bakery

This was a little cake treat given to me! The size of the cake was just nice for one pax, no mess eating it as a spoon is provided. The cake is packed neatly in a transparent plastic box, labelled eggless so anyone with egg allergy can eat it with peace of mind.

The cake tasted good but nothing very special about it either. Amount of cream was just right, and the cake itself is spongy enough.

Milo Godzilla OK Mar 24, 2014

Categories : Coffeeshop

I have tried milo dinasaur many times but this is the first time I ordered a milo godzilla. It is just like a milo dinasaur but with an extra scoop of vanilla ice-cream hidden under the dome of milo powder. As the ice-cream melted, you will find your milo getting sweeter and creamier. This drink is really pleasing to the eyes! However, do note that the quantity of milo powder on top was not consistent. There was another time when I ordered this but the milo powder only barely covered the ice-cream. I guess it depends on who is serving you then.
