You may not know of this place as they are located remotely in Cuppage plaza, level 2. However, the food that are served is absolutely one of the freshest i had.
Nijumaru Bento ($21)

Nijumaru Bento ($21)

Nijumaru Bento ($21) - Although this is abit expensive, but consider the quality of the food, i certainly recommended all to try. Saba fish (top left of the tray) is not too dry, crispy on the outside and juicy meat combiination. However, there are bones, so be careful while eating. Tempura is nice and crispy, taste first hand on the freshest tempura. Sashimi include salmon, tuna and yellowtail, no complain over these. Stew pork really look special, the lean meat and fats are proportion and tender when chew. Simply delicious.
Shogayaki Set ( Pork)

Shogayaki Set ( Pork)

Shogayaki Set ( Pork ) $14 - Marinated pork stir fried with spring onions, served with stew eel meat (Bottom right) and miso soup. Pork meat is tender and wonderfully delicious. There are a mixture of lean meat and fats, the proportion are just right. Stew eel are delicious too although there are bones and you must be careful while eating.
Ika Fried ($8)

Ika Fried ($8)

Ika Fried ($8) - Fresh, sweet and chewy. Although it is fried but you still can taste the squid freshness. Eat with mustard sauce or sweet sauce to experience different taste of the squid.
Chawamushi ($5.50)

Chawamushi ($5.50)

Chawamushi ($5.50) - Lots of ingredients, mushroom, prawn, spring onions, ginkgo nut and chicken chunk. The steam egg is really delicious and smooth. Really pipping hot even after leaving it for a few minutes. Certainly yummy

Bustling with customers Although there are no people walking along the walkway

Food is very fresh, the sashimi that i ate do not have any foul taste or smell. Even the tempura that i had also taste sweet and tender. I have a great impression on the food provided.

Staff's service is quite ok although I heard a lot of complaints about bad service. However, I was asked to leave as there are a small group of people queuing as i have not finished my cup of tea.

"Why sell congee?"
"Because everyone eat it"

This is the eye catching line when you pass by this stall in Ang Mo Kio Market and food centre. The answer given by the owner is so true. All kind of people eat congee. This is very true just by seeing the queue during peak hour. Queuing time take about 10 mins just to take order. They sell all sort of congee, there is selection such as pork, pig intestine, mixed pork, sliced fish, porkball, prawn, etc etc.
Raw Fish $3

Raw Fish $3

Chinese version of sashimi. Mixture of sliced fish, lime, chili padis, sliced ginger and cucumber. The raw fish is fresh and together with other ingredients really taste refreshing and sweet.
You Tiao

You Tiao

Porridge and freshly fried You Tiao. You can choose to cut your You Tiao or just eat the whole stick. You can choose to add an egg but it will be an extra cost.
Mixed pork porridge

Mixed pork porridge

Consist of sliced pork meat, pig intestine, pig liver and pork ball. Pig intestine is clean and does not have any disgusting taste. Very nice to eat.
Pork Porridge

Pork Porridge

Sliced pork which is so tender to chew. The meat goes well with the porridge.

Long queue at night

The porridge is very smooth and easy to eat. The ingredient such as meat is fresh, they do not have any stinky smell or taste. Fried dough or You Tiao is very crispy and fresh. I wanted to order another but scare fat.

Well, it a hawker center, so do not expect very clean and nice environment.

Definitely will queue and order again.

I happened to drop by Chinatown for CNY shopping then i saw this stall located in the newly revamped Chinatown point, hence i went to try the dessert. Mei Heong Yuen had a total of 3 stalls opened in Singapore which is rather encouraging and show that they are doing quite well. The other stalls are at Temple street and Ion orchard basement level 4.

Located in a heartland coffeeshop, 5 minutes away from Bishan MRT station, you will be able to taste this wonderful chicken rice in BishanThis stall only sell white chicken and they do not hang their chicken unlike other stalls. All their chicken are bathing in ice water in the plastic box.

Very delicious white chicken with gelatin like skin and fats on the chicken. I guess it could be because of the ice water that the chicken are soaking in. Nice and tender flesh, the meat is very juicy too. The rice is very fragrant and not very oily too. Taste of chicken too. If you notice, the chicken meat is fat and thick, unlike other stall which fatten the meat, this stall is really generous on the serving.

Can you see the layer of gelatin ?

The chili is a bit disappointing. It is watery, and sweeter without mince ginger to eat with the chicken.

Super delicious chicken rice serve by this stall. I simply love it. Per plate of chicken rice start from $3.50, cheap right?

Cha Shao Wanton Mee

Cha Shao Wanton Mee

New stall open in Ang Mo Kio Market and Food centre. There is a short queue partly because this is a new stall. But when i was queuing, i saw the reason on the queue. The noodles are being toss and soak in cold water, after which, it was place aside for a short while for the noodle to be cool and warm up again.

Maybe this is the reason why the noodle is so springy
Dumpling Noodles

Dumpling Noodles

Dumplings are fully filled with meat. The filling consist of mince meat, mushroom and chestnuts
This is really worth the price, better than the wonton

Not so bad, might eat again. Recommended to try Dumpling noodle instead of Wanton noodle. Dumplings taste better
