The famous stateland OK Dec 09, 2014
Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Café

Heard about the famous Stateland waffles so we decided to try it out one day. The cafe is very small with around 10 tables. The decorations portray a rustic feel. The menus were turning old passing through many hands. We would just order at the counter but pay after the meal. We ordered aglio olio but in my opinion, it lacked the fragrance of garlic. We then ordered the S'mores, which is chocolate waffle with toasted mashmallow and ice cream. The waffle has the egg taste but is crunchy and tasted good with chocolate.( But then again, everything taste good with chocolate!) We then ordered the Classic Honey Toast, which is the best of the 3 dishes. The toast were crispy on the outside and the berries added a little sour taste to the toast when eaten together. There was a jug of honey where you could decide how much honey you would like together with the toast.

Korean famous Galbi Chicken Smile Dec 09, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Korean

We decided to try the famous Galbi korean chicken and octupus, which is korean spicy sauce marinated chicken and octopus. The marinated meat tastes good and addictive, not too salty or spicy. We also added 2 servings of Ramyeon noodles, which is similar to instant noodle in my opinion. However, they tasted really good together with the sauce and the texture is a little rubbery. The staff would start off by bringing the uncooked meat and all the other dishes like cabbages. They will then add the sauce before starting to fry/cook the meat together. As the cooking is done, you could smell the fragrance and get eager to start eating. The noodle would be thrown in together to cook. Other toppings include cheese fried rice and udon noodles. We were given aprons just in case the sauce splashes out onto our clothes during their cooking. Overall, the oil smell did not stain too bady on our clothes after eating. There is also a salad bar at the side which consisted of some korean vegetables like kimchi. Iced water is complimentary.

Japanese Hotpot OK Dec 09, 2014

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi | Sukiyaki/Shabu Shabu

Ordered "Kurobuta" Pork and Kimchi hotpot served in Korean Spicy soup. It contained pork shabu, mushroom, tofu and mussels, together with white cabbage. You can choose to add udon, ramen or even collagen into the hotpot at a cost. We also ordered steamed rice which was very beady and fragrant. The soup tastes appetising and a little spicy. They were also able to refill the soup. However, after 2 to 3 refills, it started to get salty. We also ordered salmon sushi and eel roll, but they were only average.
The restaurant had an alfresco setting, as well as indoor seating. it is double storeyed as well, with the second floor looking more class and spacious than the first! Great for business meetings. Service was so-so.

Vietnamese food OK Dec 08, 2014

Craving for vietnamese food so ended up trying PhoPho around the area after work. Nice cosy place with cosy decor. Ordered chicken pho and beef pho noodle soup. In my opinion, they taste average. We also ordered vietnamese rice rolls and chendol. The latter tastes good and the rice rolls tasted amazing when eaten together with the peanut sauce provided!
A good place to satisfy vietnamese cruisine cravings but nothing to wow about.

Tasty burgers OK Dec 08, 2014
Categories : Café | Burgers and Sandwiches

Ordered the Chilli crab burger, as well as the pork belly burger. Both tastes slightly above average, but nothing to die for, in my opinion. The chilli crab gravy seems too little, since it is the only reason why i have ordered it.  The pork belly burger looks more like a toast and taste like an average chinese meat. The ambience is nice since it is located at a quiet part of serangoon and there are full length windows which allow natural sunlight to enter the restaurant. The burgers were over-priced though.
