Sweet Desserts! OK Jun 14, 2011

Categories : Chinese | Café | Restaurant | Desserts and Cakes | Kids-Friendly

After clubbing one night, my friends and I felt hungry and decided to chill out somewhere for supper. We decided to try out this cafeteria as they had lots of traditional desserts to offer. I ordered a lychee shake that came with slices of grass jelly in it. The cup was quite tall and it costs me $2.80. Tastes different from the usual milk shakes as they used coconut milk in the drink. My friends tried their other desserts like seaseme paste and peach jelly dessert. The staffs were quite annoyed as we were their last customers and they couldn't wait for us to leave after eating.

Vegetable buns OK Jun 13, 2011

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Restaurant | Dim Sum

There can be quite a lot of customers around the shop during weekends. I bought a vegetable bun to try. It tasted rather average but it looked quite fresh on first glance. The vegetable fillings were ordinary, filled with potatoes, peas, corns and carrots. Was quite chewy to bite on but the bread was quite sticky. The staffs were polite and quick in packing our buns into the plastic bags.

Fish Soup OK Jun 13, 2011

It was a long and tiring day as we visited the IT fair. My friends and I decided to settle for some simple fare. I ordered a bowl of sliced fish soup together with a bowl of rice. The fish soup costs $4 and additional rice at 50 cents. The staffs are generally chinese speaking and I had to speak to them in mandarin when I ordered my meal. Nothing really fantastic about the taste but there was quite a lot of fish slices in my soup. Rice was served warmed.

BreadTalk OK Jun 13, 2011

One afternoon, my friends and I decided to get some bread from BreadTalk. I bought a black pepper tuna bun and 'mr hokkaido' bread to try. The black pepper tuna bun tasted rather salty and pepperish. Not exactly to my liking. Rather, I enjoyed the hokkaido bread as it tasted sweet with red and white kidney beans. Notice that they don't have this flavor displayed in most of their outlets these days..

Chocolate Doughnut OK Jun 13, 2011
Categories : Bakery

Buying doughnuts from a bakery is much cheaper compared to doughnut specialty outlets like J.Co or Donut Factory. As I don't expect the very exotic flavors of doughnuts, I decided to get a chocolate chip doughnut from Bake Inc. The doughnut tasted soft and chewy, with sufficient chocolate chips sprinkled at the top. Its good to have an occasional indulgence, doughnuts are not very healthy after all! >.<
