Chicken Rice - Banquet  Cry Mar 14, 2011

Ordered a packet of chicken rice. It was halal and tasted pretty weird. Anyway, the meat were without skin. I wonder why.. It was tender and a little mushy. Not tender at all. The egg was soso. Rice wasn't that fantastic as it was a little dry and not flavourful at all. I had to add in lots of chilli to spice up my pack of rice.

A new cake shop in Golden mile. It looked very attractive thus i bought one of the cookies shaped like a dog in a pack of 4 and a durian swiss roll. The cookie is a total failure! The cookie is tasteless, with chocolate and kokocrunch for the ears. Probably it wasn't tied properly, the cookie turned soft! As for the durian roll, the cream is not very refreshing kind, the cake was just average. All in all, i'll not patronize here again!

Ah Xiao Teochew Braised Duck  Cry Mar 10, 2011

As i was rushing for time and all the other stalls were pretty packed with customers except for this stall, thus, i tried their food. Ordered a plate of braised duck rice and sat beside the stall to eat. Did a super quick close up snap of the duck as the owner kept eyeing on me =x Anyway, the duck is really dry and hard! The rice is even worst as though uncooked. Wonder why they didn't put more sauce on the rice and the duck. I only had a few mouthful and left. No wonder there's no customer at all. Will never ever step there again!

The stall uncle is pretty friendly. As i was seated nearby, he came to ask if i wanted to order any drink. As usual, i'm lazy to walk, thus i just ordered a glass of ice milo from him. It was $1.20! Pretty expensive compared to other stalls which were all selling only at a dollar each! The milo is very sweet. I set it aside to wait for the ice to melt in hoping that it will dilute the milo. Nevertheless, it is still VERY SWEET! Ended up i didn't finish up at all. Wasted!

As i wasn't too hungry and the weather was too hot, i ordered a bowl of ice cheng teng during lunch hours. The hot cheng teng is covered with shaved ice. On the first sip, i find it a tad too thick. Not really soothing to the throat especially. Though it is cold, i didn't really like the taste. As compared to the Kopitiam's cheng teng, this is a definite no. I'll not patronize here again.
