Would totally recommend their Squid Ink Pizza. They are one of the few places in Singapore that does the Squid Ink well. Very garlic-y too! I wouldn't mind trying their Squid Ink Pasta the next time I hit this place up. Love how the dough base is black as well. mad

The Ginger Butter Chicken wasn't that great. I'm not a fan of egg and it as odd for me to have a curry taste on the pizza. Also, it was a tad spicy for my tongue. If I wanted this flavor, I feel like I would have gone for Roti Prata or Indian Food

As the food wasn't enough to fill our stomachs, we ordered a plate of pasta to share. The prawns were marinated very nicely and the spices came out nicely. Each bite was flavorful and the pasta was al dente. Not bland nor too forceful in flavor!

The staff was trying to be helpful, but one of the Supervisors was down with a cold and hence, we didn't want to be served by her as we didn't feel that it was very hygienic for her to go near our food sad

Too many choices Smile Apr 24, 2012
Categories : American | Restaurant | Steaks and Grills | Brunch

Ate here with a bunch of friends and got to try various dishes.

Personally ordered their Spruce Signature Burger. The fries were tasty and were served hot. The meat patty in the burger was juicy and thick as well. The plate did not look like much at first, but I had trouble finishing the plate! The Burger itself seemed really worth it. However, the fries are too much if just eaten by one person. A side salad would have been a better choice.

The Selection with the Crab Cake was recommended by friends who frequented Spruce and the presentation hotel style. Really filling as well despite its looks.

If you come here, be prepared to make reservations beforehand, else you might not be able to get a seat. Also, if you're in a hurry, this place is not ideal as the restaurant is bustling with customers and orders. A good choice to have a slow and lazy Sunday morning/brunch though. smile

Savory Smile Apr 24, 2012

The Godiva Chocolates were handpicked and very savory. I remembered the Popcorn & Dark Chocolate series was completely filled with goodness. Despite not liking White Chocolate as fondly as I used to, every taste of the Godiva Chocolate was heavenly. They were packed neatly and despite Singapore's heat, did not melt very easily. Your money really goes to the love and care they put into each chocolate and the decoration.

Absolutely delectable lava cake Smile Apr 22, 2012

Absolutely delicious - their lava cake!

The layers was so distinct and absolutely paired together nicely

There's the Chocolate Cake with the warm chocolate fudge in the middle. On the bottom is their vanilla icecream with a layer of cake within. Be sure to share the calories with someone but every bite felt so worth it mad

They also had samples of the outer layer of the chocolate cake. Definitely would consider this for any chocolate lover and would pair absolutely beautiful with a tall glass of milk. It was $29.99 for a 6-inch. So yummy.

Ate at the 313 Somerset branch at the Basement floor. As it's a store-front, there's no place to sit within the store. The sales lady was pleasant and courteous though.

Steamboat Lunch Smile Apr 22, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hot Pot | Buffet

The place is open for lunch till 3pm and though we walked in at 2pm, the people were courteous and did not show any attitude at all in terms of hurrying you up smileWhen we walked in, they asked what type of soup base we wanted and we decided to have the Chicken Soup & Tom Yam Base.

The Tom Yam Base was a Sour and Spicy base, but lacked the lemongrass flavor to make it more "Thai"-like. The pot is put on an electronic heater in which you can adjust the heat or have the staff assist you.

The restaurant was thoughtful in which there was tissue boxes at each table and even had hooks under the table for you to hang your bags. tongue

Though they had an affordable lunch set ($22 if I don't recall wrongly), we decided to opt to choose our own condiments. We ordered an array of dishes including Squid Ball, Shrimp Wanton, Quail Eggs, Golden Mushrooms, Fish Maw, Crab Meat, Fish Slices, Beef, and Spinach.

The table with the dishes we ordered

The pot with some of the condiments

The Beef was of decent quality and I'd definitely recommend the Shrimp Wanton that was marinated well and the right texture of skin. Their squid ball was decent too. However, I wouldn't recommend their Fish Slice as it wasn't quite to my tasting.

Their house chili was definitely a good addition to top off the food. You can refill the chili if you run out and for someone that doesn't eat spicy or chili, I actually finished my portion.shocked

After eating, they came out with a plate of juicy watermelon which was a good way to end the lunch.smile
